Paying 25 cents to use a damn shopping cart.

Well I guess after a few shopping carts have been stolen (probably by the homeless) that my grocery store has taken it upon themselves to charge you a quarter to use their shopping carts for 30 minutes. WTF?

We've had stuff like that for awhile in Ottawa, I think. It'd give us back the money after.

Wait, they time it? Usually it's just put-quarter-in-to-unlock, then whenever you're done, relock-to-get-quarter-back.

It not only discourages theft, but also encourages people to corral their bleeping carts instead of leaving them all over the bleeping parking lot like a bleeping 2-year-olds toys.

A quarter discourages theft? Hell, I'd consider a shopping cart for twenty-five cents a bargain. Pay a quarter, get a shopping cart.

Now, if they really wanted to discourage theft, they'd charge ten bucks. Or at least five. Anything less than that is just being an A-hole.
