This Makes Me Angry

My best friend (Leif) had this girlfriend named Morgan and through him I became good friends with her. Near the end of their relationship, he began flirting with this other girl named Sarah who has evidentally had like..three abortions and always stalks and annoys Leif, thus Leif says he is disgusted by her. (I know you aren't supposed to judge a person this way but for the record, she literally looks like a goblin, except normal person colored skin and has these really creepy inverted sharp front teeth. Ew.)

Approximately a week later he broke up with her, and just a couple days ago Morgan told her friend named Shelbe and me that she heard from someone else that Leif was now dating Sarah even though he always says how much he despises her. Shelbe, being the gossiper she is, told almost everyone she came into contact with. Being the trusting person I am, I believed Leif when he became mad a Morgan for spreading such a ludicris rumor and quit being her friend altogether. It wasn't until yesterday that I heard he was dating Sarah from Morgan and my loyal friend named Caleb, whom of which NEVER lies about these types of things.(He told me this at lunch while just Morgan, Caleb and I were sitting together.)

This morning, I asked Leif if he really was dating Sarah and he said yes after many attemps to avoid answering the question. Now, you may ask-what am I really mad at; what exactly is the problem here? What really aggravates me in this situation is that not only did he repetitively say how much he hated Sarah and yet continued to flirt with her WHILE Morgan and he were dating, but he told Morgan how he hated her and made fun of her because she told two people of his new girlfriend. This may not seem like a big deal to anyone who reads this, but it you were me then you'd be REALLY pissed off! Not for me, because this doesn't really affect me too much except that I know my best friend is so desperate to get a girlfriend that he'll go out with a decieving, lying, disgusting goblin, but that he was so rude to Morgan for telling her closest friends that she was mad because of it.

Not well. She has been really moody and depressed. Leif meant a lot to her and now he's making her feel like crap for something HE is doing wrong. And no, Leif is actually a whiny conceded ass.

You should talk to her, comfort her now. She probably needs that more than anything else right now.

What else has Leif told you? Do you know why he suddenly went to Sarah, or why he pulled all of this?

I will as soon as the weekend end, when we're at school. Leif probably did so because he never goes without having a girlfriend, therefore either he was really desperate for one or liked her the whole time in some weird, sick way and didn't want to admit it. After Leif affirmed that he was dating her, I yelled at him (if that's even possible while texting) and did in fact call him an ass, and he hasn't talked to me since (6 hours?). I probably won't be talking to him for a while anyway...I'm too upset over it at the moment.

I know somebody at my school kind of like that-- doesn't care about the girls he dates, but HAS to always have a girlfriend.

He even tried cheating on one of my good friends RIGHT AFTER she lost her only parent to leukemia. So I totally get what these kind of guys can be like-- comfort Morgan, and know I hope the best for both of you.

Sounds like an ass, it allso sounds like he could use a good amount of slaps to the face, with a shovel of course, but to be honest go with the comforting stuff it sounds like you friend needs more attention than the other one.

Allso for just checking the shovel option, how far from sweden do you guys live?

Well, you think Sarah "looks like a goblin" and judge her for supposedly having abortions, etc. What did you expect Leif to do? Admit to you that he actually likes this person you're so avidly against? No offense, but there's very few people your age who will openly stand up to their friends. I'm pretty willing to bet that he kept saying he "hated" her because no one else liked her (nothing like fitting in, right?). Of course, since you already saw he was flirting with her regardless, you could have already figured out his real opinion, if you wanted.

The "stalking" and "annoying" are usually good signs that someone likes someone else; you see it one way, others see it a different way. It's up to the receipient to decide if it's unwanted attention. Apparently Leif didn't find it unwanted, therefore, not stalking (or too annoying).

As for breaking up with Morgan, there's always more to a failed relationship than what it seems. No one leaves someone they are completely happy with; there are stress points, there are other factors. Whether or not Leif and Morgan were mature enough to discuss their issues openly and with understanding is undetermined. Morgan might not have even known that Leif was dissatisfied, or maybe she did and wasn't able to make it work. But these things happen.

You can't decide who your friends are allowed to date. Be supportive of Morgan while she's feeling down, but don't make the mistake of bad-mouthing Leif and blaming it all on him. That won't help Morgan, it will only cause discontent in your friendship (no one likes bitchiness). Give everyone a chance to cool off. People say mean things and act stupidly when their feelings are still raw. If you can just be supportive, and be a friend to all of them, it will tide over and your lives will go on.
