Epic Ladynerd Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Forteresse de Valois Gender: Posts: 28,504 Thanks: 1,658 Thanked 1,820 Times in 1,042 Posts | For the creative-types Most people think the worst thing you can have is writer's block. That's entirely untrue. Worse than writer's block is having too many great ideas at the same time and being completely overwhelmed by indecision for which you should work on first. In fact, there's that niggling suspicion, that if you choose one over the others, the remaining ideas will lose focus and fall by the way side. That your inspiration and enthusiasm for them may be lost forever. And there's the final nail in the coffin, that you think you'll choose something then suffer inertia almost immediately. gaahhhhhh (ps. this is actually a bizarre reaction to my intense procrastination over my "real" work, which just adds more and more indecision, since I'm technically meant to be doing something removed from all my creative ideas in the first place) gaaahhhhhhh |

I have no idea what to pick to draw also. Plus, the lack of time means i'll forget them eventually. gaaahhhhhhh i feel your pain __________________ /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? |

Works for me usually. |

There's this one script I've been writer's-blocked on for a few years, in fact. I've actually solved the block at least 2 or 3 times....when I've been in the shower or driving or in class or something. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

At least with writer's block I can just mindlessly play video games. |

I'd be all like, "Well, I'm going to die a slow, horrible, agonizing death in a couple of months. What's the point of trying to plan out the next chapter in a book I'll never have time to finish anyway?" |

If I'm a writer with only my writing ability, and my writing ability has been blocked with a block of writer's block, I'd think "This writing block is super bad!" It's kind of depressing that we aren't spurred to do things with our lives until we have a timer on it. We all implicitly have one anyways (i.e. dying of old age), but the alarm bell doesn't really ring as loud as "cancer" or "AIDS" does. |
