DK's Final Smash

I hate it when people bash DK's Final Smash because "it sucks" "it doesn't do anything" and "it's not powerful at all".

It "sucks" because you fail at reading.
Here's a picture of DK's description in the Instruction Booklet that I scanned and enlarged (so the semi-blind may see) for your enjoyment.

It tells you right there how to use the damn thing! It is somewhat difficult to get it right the first few times, but practice makes 99.99999% perfect.

So next the next time you think about dissing it or saying it sucks, at least TRY to use it correctly.

If you use it on the wrong stages.

It's good enough to knock people around and rack up damage, and if it's done right it can even KO them.

I don't have rhythm. At all. I can't even win the Yoshi race in Super Mario RPG. When I play as DK and I get a Smash Ball, I just jam on the A button completely randomly and thank the Lord when I actually get a halfway decent result.

Having said that, DK's Final Smash isn't the worst in the game. King Dedede's is. It's weak, and it's fairly easy to avoid.

DK's final smash it good on smaller levels or on the edge of a level, where it's easier to knock opponents out of bounds. And yes, you need to press the buttons on beat for it to do any real damage.

I still think Jigglypuff's is the worst, as I've only seen it actually do anything once every ten times.

Jigglypuff's is another that's great on small stages or on the edge of a platform. You have to be smart where you use it, and not give your opponents enough of room to flee.

Dude, I've NEVER beaten that stupid thing. If you suck at rhythm, you may not be able to tell, but that race thing is WAY harder than any other timing-based challenge I've played in a video gaem.

It sucks, but from a different standpoint: It has absolutely nothing to do with the real DK at all, and all to do with the dumb rhythm games Nintendo has shoehorned him into post-Rare.

Indeed, upon seeing it originally, I burst out laughing while the poor schmuck who got it (at the beta playing in E For all) cursed his bad fate, for it was so very unintuitive and limited compared to most other Final Smashes.

What would you have had DK's final smash be, then?

He climbs to the top of the stage and starts rolling barrels down it? He smashes an Animal Buddy crate and starts riding Rambi around, thwumping every opponent he runs into? He pulls out his Coconut Cannon from DK64 and blasts everyone with it? A giant banana falls onto the stage and crushes everyone? (I'm not arguing here, these are actual suggestions.)
