I am furious

I don't know if I had told you this, but I have been taking German classes in school, and I speak it pretty well. Learning German has been my passion and my goal is to make it a second language. But my evil schoolboard is deciding to cancel it for 7th and 8th grade because of "budget" which is a load of bulls**t. They have thousands of other things to cut, but they needed to cut a whole class. It's been a class for 20 years so they're cutting it because that is the teacher that makes the most money. But anyway, I spent a year of my life studying in vain. A year of hard work in vain. A year I'll never get back in vain. Now for a reason that will take a whole paragraph to explain, I can't even take German in high school. I'm SCREWED. I can't even get high school credits now. The only way to take German class now is to get non-school classes, which I will do. I WILL strive for what I want, and I WILL get it.

1. I am mostly German

2. It's a cool language

3. Yes, my grandparents go to Germany all the time and I will go when I'm a bit older

4. I don't want to take Chinese, Spanish, or French classes in school

5. German is my grandma's first language

Can you just... hang around with people who only speak German? I hear that's a good way to learn German.

If my school didn't have German my plans for next year being ****ing awesome would be ruined. I mean, I'd probably be taking Spanish and Latin, which is totally not as cool as German and Latin.

That's the reason I'm not taking a language next year. I'll just take an out of school german class and that can count towards my expierence in german and therefore I'll be taking german in high school.

What if they actually have to cut classes due to their budget?

1) That means they're smart. 2) How do you know that your German teacher makes the most money? Do you know?

365 days of 24/7 German classes? You mean you didn't do ANYTHING else? It's not a year they took away. Did you meet new people? Participate in fun activities? Die? (I sure did.) Make a cool video game? (I sure did.)

Then why not do that? Also, this isn't a paragraph. Also, yes, you can get high school credits, just not in German.

I think you're overreacting a lot here.

I totally feel you; those are the reasons I'm learning French in school now, and our school is starting to cut that program for that same reason. Soon the only available language there will be Spanish. :{/

Anyway, don't worry, there's always college. :{)

Dude. Guy got screwed out of a class he really, really wanted to take. Same thing happened to me and I wasn't very happy about it. It's not a really fun thing to have happen to you.

Sorry to hear this, man.

Overreacting? Speaking a 2nd language has always been a goal of mine. I hate all the rest of the choices. And German has been my passion ever since I started. And yes, a whole year. Maybe not 24/7 classes, but I can't just undo 7th grade. I put my heart and soul into studying and learning, and when that's all thrown to waste because they don't want me to continue, I'm overreacting? I'm not overreacting.

I'm just angry.

Sounds a lot like my highschool. One of the richest districts in Ohio, and we didn't get new paintbrushes for like 3 years.

When I was in school, they cut the German program like that too. A lot of the remnants that had been in it ended up in Japanese, where I met them.

I don't know what you mean by wasted time. You learned some German, and you wanted that, so what's the problem?

True, but it's just some grammer and VERY basic vocabulary. And they are making it impossible to take it in high school unless I take action into my own hands.

If you've learned some German, then in the end there's no real waste, especially if you're going to continue your studies.

Does not work for me atleast, But i think it's because Swedish is not Foregin in Sweden and almost every person below 45 knows English.

And i have forgoten most of the Sami i learned and that's kind of a shame, i really want to learn that some day.

German i can understand,i don't speak it fluid but i can help when german dogsleders calls and want to hire somewhere to have their dogs when they are sliding through.

How many are you attending to the german class, if you are a bunch i can't understand why they should close the course down.

Thought it's much politics in the language pick up's, Don't try Sami on the Sami girls, it is not increasing your chanses there, and because i have a accent that sounds like a combination of these two accents.

Norrländska
YouTube - Robert Gustavsson - Lappland gangsta

And Östgötamål (around 0.36)
YouTube - Robert Gustavsson som påstridig byfåne från Motala

(More info @ Wikipedia)

Allso i just noticed that it's the same guy in the movies but then he is awesome on making accents so i think it works.

It dosent make the situation better with the ladies.

What i want to say is that the German accent might work on the gals that adore the german language, the girls that speaks it not so much.

But then again this is from my own experiencses and im not saying that they are 100% right.
