I'm going to focus on the kind that we see in the water, like our friend, "Nessy". Some photos we have are blurry or unfocused, and we can look at them and say, "Whoa... what is that? Creepy..." Other photos are very clear. When we look at them we're like, "WTF?!?!" And there's the people who are 100% sure they saw something like a plesiosaur or a pterodactyl. So what do we do about it? We sit back and first call people crazy. "That's all bullstuff. They were drunk. They want attention. That's ridiculous." Then we come up with theories. "This is why we think it's a dinosaur. Look at this drawing, it could be an elephant. Your mind's playing tricks on you. That photo is doctored. Here's what we think." And we argue about it and give our opinions. THIS PISSES ME OFF. THERE'S SOMETHING OUT THERE, QUIT ARGUING ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS! WHY DOESN'T SOMEONE JUST GO OUT AND CATCH ONE?!?! ^I mean, some people actually have the money and the resources to do that, but I don't. WHAT'S WITH ALL THE BLURRY AND DISTANT PHOTOS? IF YOU HAVE A CAMERA AND YOU SEE ONE, JUMP IN THE WATER AND GET A PICTURE OF HIS ****ING FACE! Are they afraid it's gonna kill them or something? That would be so freaking awesome to have on my epitaph: "RIPPED IN HALF BY MONSTER" Yeah, talk, talk, talk. Talk is easy. WE DON'T WANNA SEE THE WHAT THE EXPERTS HAVE TO SAY, WE WANNA SEE A ****ING DINOSAUR! Go out and TOUCH the sucker. GO BAG ONE AND BRING HIM BACK. |

But really, there a few reasons for this. One is that a plesiosaur or other such large dinosaur still being alive makes no sense at all. If there were plesiosaurs still alive, then there would probably be more than one of them. And Nessie reports have been happening, literally, for centuries - Even if it was true, it wouldn't be likely for it to live for so dang long. There have been many attempts to catch or detect it, and all have either failed or resulted in really sketchy, insubstantial/incomplete evidence. There have been people spending their whole lives searching for this thing, and not succeeding. This is why it's not taken seriously- There's no imperialistic, consistent, reliable evidence for it. I know all this because some years ago I was wayyy into this kind of stuff, and read buckets of articles and books on it. But I phased out of that. and am more rational today. | |

Judging by the question mark, that's either a joke or a question. I'm sorry I don't recognize the face, so either I can't answer your question or I don't get the joke. Vapor, Yeah, about the water pterodactyl... The pterodactyl part was just another instance of things being out there that we haven't learned about or that we thought wasn't even there. The water part is because I believe a non-flying animal would be easier to isolate and capture, unlike ptero which would just fly away if we got close. Quote:

I mean..... There's one on TV all the time. And the existence was PROVEN. ![]() Last edited by Sim Kid; 06-17-2010 at 02:59 AM. Reason: Linkpwn |
