I know his ex wants him back, they're getting back together soon.

I just don't know why he felt the need to tell me he liked me, but then go, "lol, I still <3 mah ex," and that we should just be friends.

He's the brother of a friend. We got to know each other, he said he liked me, and I said I liked him too.

The next day, he told me about his ex who he's still in love with and who he'll be getting back together with once she moves back in a few months.
