V3 Testers Wanted

I will be installing an alpha version of V3 later today. (Note: even though this is marked alpha, it's stable, although there are still some bugs that need to be squashed. It's only called alpha because it's missing a lot of features from the final product.) As he requested, I have made Joker co-mod of the forum, along with Selene, and I will also be involved in the test.

So I am requesting at this time the assistance of an additional 7 people. You will need to have time over the next couple of weeks to test the system and offer feedback on how to improve what is within our control to improve (i.e. balance issues). All stats following the test will most likely be reset, and it will be made available to VGF as a whole once the final version is released.

The system is now online to the RPG testers. Nothing's online just yet. Need to get a couple towns and maybe a basic place like a cave or forest, some basic items, enemies, etc. Even in this alpha stage, the list of options are pretty nuts on the admin side, so it may take a while, but hopefully at least something will be up and running some time today.

I'll get to work on a town, a forest and cave, then work on items or enemies depending on what selene wants to handle when she gets in.

Got a town (rivendale), Cave (Baldurs Cave), Forest (Forest of Eternal Darknes), Just two enemie bots so far Aligator and Snake. working on potions as well as shops

Umm I tried to test what little there is but it gives me an error message, am I not a tester ??

It might be reading from the primary usergroup and ignoring secondary, which is kinda stupid. Should work now.

It works for me,a nd so far it's pretty cool.

Just a question-How do you get healed?

Battles are pretty slow right now, but I guess that's expected...

I have added an Inn to heal your stats at a lower cost rather than spending all your money on potions and two small areas for battle with a total of three enemies to choose from.

Also the Merchant shop has some base items for now, Tunic, Boots, Dagger, Staff, Helmet just to get things started. As well as some base potions, small healing, small magic and a blue potion that heals both HP and MP

Bank is also up and running and insurance is available to those of you who are afriaid of having the bank robbed.

Expect alot more to go up the second Selene see's that everything is up and running as I am sure she will want to get cracking at all these crazy features we now have

And since she has more experience with the character classes and jobs and stuff like that, I think she would set up a much more stronger base than I could, so far now there are no particular job classes. Also spells will be next on the list amongst other things.

Selene of course PM with any ideas or tid-bits of information you want to exchange

HAUL OVER TIME! Today at lunchtime (12-1:00 PM PST), I'm gonna be setting up the basic things en masse. Item types, item classes, various and sundry bot settings, so on, and so forth. I expect it to take a few days to get everything basically operational.

Sorry if some things fall down before I get everything set up, certain balance issues, setup issues, and calculations require clean-slatage. Unfortunately, I'm still not gonna be around on weekends for a little while yet, but I can promise to be about for an hour or two each day, which I will primarily spend cranking away on the game.

Please bear with!

What little I have set up is only for the testers to check out the various options of the system and to make sure that they are working, so I don't expect any of these items etc. to be a part of the final product. Shane needed to have a few people try things out first, so I got a quick mock up of some stuff for the various testers to muck with.

I tried to put an avatar on my character, but it only shows up as a little dot.

Problem fixed

It looks like the pre-set numbers for the size of the avatars are really small all you have to do is adjust the width and length size.
