Extreme reconstruction

I know there is very little activity here right now, even from the people that like the game. I'm going to change that.

Over the next couple weeks, I'm going to be going through the entire RPG, modifying stats and old items and old areas and adding a lot of new surprises in the process.

In order to start everyone on the same page, all RPG users will be reset when I am finished. While it may still be open during this reconstruction, you should be prepared to start at level 1 just like everybody else.

Once all these improvements are done, I hope to run a bunch of new contests and auctions and stuff like that. I also hope this will inspire some people who have only glanced at this thing to finally give this a chance.

However, there are still some things I will preserve if you request so in this topic. When everybody is reset, I will give your new character the things you requested. Things eligible for preservation are...

- 10% of your Coins (max 5000)
- Up to 2 Rare Minerals
- One Triple Triad card marked "Limited" (only)
- Spells you cannot get normally
- Pets you cannot get normally
- Cravdraa's choice

I'll take the mineral, gold, and spell preservation. (assuming I even had any spells that couldn't be acquired normally)

I guess I'll take minerals, the spells and "Cravdraa's choice.", I suppose.

If it's even up for debate.

Crav and I were planning new late-in-the-game area for Halloween, any chance you can sort it out with him first?

Minerals, Spells, Crav's Choice I guess. Gold probably wouldn't hurt either; but its easy enough to get probably, so it doesn't seem too important to me. ;/

Also one thing I'd say to change would be the Inns in the game. There's basically no point in using any of the ones you have to pay for since a free one is just a jump away (exception goes to the Tents in BSlap Field; since you have to cross like 12+ areas to get to the next checkpoint there).

I'll keep the rare minerals, the gold, and my Garnet card. I'll probably ask Crav about a few things too.

I talked to Cravdraa last night and he said there shouldn't be any issues with reconstructing stuff immediately. Does the area have to be deep in the game? I would think the more people that see it, the better.

When I say "Crav's Choice", I mean if there's anything additional he wants to give back to certain players, he should post here saying what things.

Also if you're not sure you have a unique spell, you do not have a unique spell.

Just ask me if there's something special you particularly want to hold onto. I'm sure we can work something out.
As for the new areas, I'm playing with some ideas. Might be able to work them into the game a little earlier and make the whole thing a little less linar, which would be plus in my book.

I actually just tried this game two days ago...

And until the combat is made to process faster, there is no way I would play it again. It took nearly five minutes to kill three entry-level monsters.

I doubt I have anything that needs preserving; is your update going to make the turns faster?

How the engine itself works is not under my control. A possible solution could be to lower the health of the early enemies, but give them more power in exchange. Anyone want to comment?

That sounds like a reasonable solution, S1x.

I'm okay with the new area going early in the game as a non-linear extension. My only concern was over how Crav's ideas were meant to work out when players have few items available, again. I'm just the artist, mostly, so I've got no protests over bumping it up earlier in the game.

Well, Crav, can I keep my Sword of Equinox? It's actually very useful.

Actually, I may want to keep all my equipment. I'm not sure you can though. >_>

And by that, I mean what I currently have equipped. What can be done about that?

The thing is I got it all from Joker, so I can't really recreate it. >_<

all RPG users will be reset when I am finished
Good to hear. Haha. I suck at this RPG and for some reason have had alot of trouble from the beginning. >.> I think it's my own fault, but Ive been wanting to start over. Everytime I come back to it I'm stuck in that dang spot and just decide, "Meh, I'll pick it up later," and I leave it that way for several months at a time. So after reconstruction, hoping for more activity from me. =D

I wonder, is it possible to temporarily fling this forum to the top of the forum lists or something when I complete the "reopening"? This mini-project is going to take quite a bit of effort, and it would kind of suck if only a few people saw the cool new art.
