Then it kept changing. That's so cool. Looks beautiful. __________________ /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? |

This is the most stunning, breathtaking thing I have ever seen. Not only is she an incredible artist with impeccable, flawless control of her medium, she's using her art to tell a story, to actually affect the people she's working for. Incredible. |

I don't really know enough about what that was like for them to really appreciate the story, but judging from the reactions I'd say she told it well. |

I personally thought it was pretty obvious it was about WWII (I got that the from the second picture, with the bombing and the troops/mobs), and then everything else just kind of fell into place. The music cues helped too - there were places where bombs were cued as she was throwing sand, destroying the previous picture. It's amazing to me how we haven't seen anything like this in America - our talent shows consist mostly of singing (not all of them, but singing is a major thing for us, apparently). I wonder if any one would ever be able to do this on AGT; I know that the American show has less time than this woman was allotted. But still, it'd be nice to see someone with a more unique kind of talent, like this, on the American version of the show. Last edited by ZeldaGirl; 08-21-2009 at 11:39 AM. I got that the central theme was WWII, but for an audience not native to Ukraine, for a sense of accessibility, there were themes of loss and the brutality of war - and themes of life born anew and hope beyond destruction. It was really, really wonderful, and the raw power of it all was just amazing. The music helped bring out even more detail and life, and it illustrates that art and music are virtually inseparable; they always complement one another. After all, Music is Art, as Art is Music. I really wish we could see artistic merit the likes of this on our 'reality shows'. We glorify banality and frivolity in life rather than beauty and appreciation of what's around us. This video tells me that there's still real artists out there who can tell a real story with their work, and it's very, very inspiring. Thanks for sharing, Deku. I really enjoyed this. |

As is, they do get ventriloquists, acrobats, dancers, magicians, comedians, jugglers, et cet, but the voting audience still is usually biased towards the singers, & for some reason particularly soloists (especially those who don't play instruments ).It also bothers me that they give no quarter whatsoever to anything that starts slowly (except, of course, song covers). People have tried short ballet pieces, visual arts, & even the Masochism Tango, getting either buzzed out by the judges or trampled by the voters for their troubles. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
