It seems that Rare also revealed their first DS title: or is DKR not by them? |

I had doubts, but the games look great, the price won't be stupid ridiculous, and the shock of the name is even wearing off. |

Granted, it is Zelda, which won't be released on time anyway. But still. __________________ I can do anything that a 9-year-old and a monkey can do. |

Back to the SF64 style of Gameplay, no running or anything and B. I see that you can play as Wolf, Bill, and Katt. |

But one thing has made me giggle today that I've noticed. It just goes to show you that with every potential mistake Nintendo makes, Sony makes real ones. Nintendo does not seemed concerned with their graphical horespower and ditches the HD support. Nintendo named their system "Wii" and received a lot of negative feedback because of it. Sony nervously copies Nintendo's innovative controller scheme thingie at the very last second. The highest praise you can give em is imitation. Also, the system is priced a friggin $499-$599 price range. That's risk-K. |

It looks like it'll handle like a dream (a rumble-free dream, perhaps, but a dream nonetheless). I hate to sound like a broken record, here, but I really think the Wii controller was a terrible mistake on Nintendo's part. I mean, people are saying it'll help immersion--that it'll literally be you waving the tennis racquet or sword or whatevernot--and I can understand the appeal; but, at the same time, I'm not sure that kind of immersion is going to mean depth of games. I mean, the 'Eyetoy' series offered many of the same kinds of experiences, and that ended up being mostly for casual gamers. It's one thing to build a single peripheral around a cute gimmick; it's quite another to make that gimmick the main thrust of the control system. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |

Initial design seems to trump modification an awful lot in this industry. I mean, look at the PS1 and PS2, for example. They're both dedicated two-player consoles, right? The Multitap was introduced to increase the potential number of players to four; yet how many PS1 and PS2 games ended up having four-player modes? A few, sure, but not a tithe as many as the N64/DC/XBox/GCN had. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, eh? __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president Last edited by Booyakasha; 05-10-2006 at 12:58 AM. |

In the video I also saw one clip where they held the remote like a normal controller. It was ExciteTruck, which didn't look very exciting to me. Still, there were some games that I found appealing of the videos ML posted. Twilight Princess obviously, but also Yoshi's Island 2, Star Fox DS and Phantom Hourglass. I might get a DS after all. |
