This and the PSP is the reason I hate Sony......

I sold 18 GBA games, a DS and 14 DS games for a PSP with 3 games. WTF?

I know I'm getting screwed out of my money, but I'm selling it for a DS Lite and MAYBE 3 games...... piece of shi*......

I made the same mistake. I was too drawn in by homebrew apps that I would later find I never use.

stuff like sh*tty emulators. I didn't feel like waiting for apps with a small bit of potential to develop when I could be playing brand new games on a DS.

Well if Sony DID copy Nintendo... it would make a lot of sense. Sony lives next door to the Nintendo of America HQ. They could place a Sony worker into a tour group of the Nintendo of America HQ Tour. At least, if they HAVE a tour. They could easily steal ideas.

They should've done what Earthworm Jim (on the SNES!) and later Skullmonkeys on the PSX did; rather than using how far down you press the button to determine how high you jump, they used how long you held the button down. If you pressed and held it, Jim/Klaymen would jump like Mario. If you tapped it, they'd do a minijump (and you needed "minijumps" for the final stage of Skullmonkeys because some of those holographic platforms were on for such a short time you couldn't even waste time falling onto the individual platforms from a high jump)

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

I feel that sony copied nintendo even when the playstation came out.

The PS1 controller (before the analog sticks) is the exact same as the SNES controller except for:

1. two extra shoulder buttons
2: theres shapes instead of letters

Other than that the PS1 controller is the exact same as the SNES controller.

When you think about it, they're all reasonably simple ideas.
Didn't, like, Atari or somebody make the first console? Didn't care to look through the topic.

The Magnavox Oddysey was the first video game console. It did not have interchangable games, but came with 9(essentially the same) games.

I believe Metal gear solid 2 and 3 are ones that have that function. They did it well with MGS2. If you aimed the gun but didn't want to fire you needed to release the button slowly to lower you gun. They also included the hold button down thing you talked about well when it cam to swimming like quick taps for fast movement while holding it down for slow swimming. It was well done in my opinion. Sadly those two are probably the only games that did such things well.
