But you could say Sony 'copied' Nintendo by starting to make games consoles in the first place. Nintendo made analogue sticks, shoulder buttons and handheld consoles. I think it may be a tad immature to say Sony would be copying Nintendo though. When you think about it, they're all reasonably simple ideas. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I don't really mind that Sony put in a motion-sensor per se, it's just that seemed to be a rushed add-on that has no real value besides a poor imitator of the Wii. Note that the Wii has more that just an accelerometer, but actual motion tracking hardware external to the Wiimote. Such imprecision may result in a completely useless feature for the PS3. As such, it just seems like Sony is trying to steal some of Nintendo's mystique without actually adding any value to their system, much like saying "Ooh, the PS3 has online play" by including a modem but not actually supporting an online play infrastructure like Xbox Live. Had Sony put in a motion-tracker and made it look like it would be useful/fun, I'd give it a second thought. Sidenote: Analog stick - Atari Handheld - Microvision Although I believe the big N did pioneer the cross-pad. |

| Timelord. | Um...Sony would know alot about VGs if it wasn't for Nintendo. Sony and Nintendo were making the Playstation together, until they got in an agruement about gamepacks, and CDs. |

None of their most successful games were their's to sell. What they did was cheat a bunch of little guys out of money, and popularize extortion of third parties. |

But I bet they wouldn't of put it into action if Nintendo didn't come up with the idea. Sony STILL copied Nintendo, for in 1998(or 97, not sure) there was a Kirby game for the Gameboy Color. You had to tilt the GBC so you could manuever Kirby through mazes. I had the game. Anyway, Sony very very very very very very very likely copied the idea and patented it. Thus, they copied Nintendo a long time ago! Anyway, Nintendo kicks Sony's ass. ![]() |

In comparison to the Revolution's capabilities, it's just a cheap trick. Of couse, they did get the idea from Nintendo's obsession with motion sensitivity - that much is too damn obvious, given the time of their announcement... And the developer's awareness... And the controller redesign, after consumer backlash. But motion sensitivity a tilt sensor ain't. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | Now that I think about it, it reminds me of the PS2 adding analog face buttons to the PS2 controller. Maybe you don't know, but the triangle/square/circle/cross buttons have analog pressure sensitivity, a feature not really used by any game, ever. Although I found out the hard way that it is used in some games. I was playing DOA: Hardcore, and despite pressing the same button combo, I would perform different moves, resulting in terrible losses. In my opinion, not really a useful place to use the analog button control ![]() |

I mean, how often do you use the mini-jumps in Melee? Video games - Ralph Baer And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | It's like a metaphor for Sony, though. "Hey, everyone else is talking about something. Nintendo's got the Wii-mote, Microsoft got the Live... Let's talk about a tilt-sensor and a huge price point!" |
