Apparently it's 39 for the remote and 19 for the nunchucks, so for 3 additional fully operational controllers that's about 180. And if you want to play Smash Bros. with the traditional controller you need another 76 (4 x 19).

What, can you not use your old GC controllers for the new SSB?

....why would you buy the system for the motion-controllers and not use motion controllers? You're the same type of ass-hat that gave his friends the PSOne controller instead of the Dual Shock and wondered why you dominated.

Why should I buy a game that doesn’t look as good, controls strangely, and doesn’t have the online capabilities as the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version?

I think this is a very good point, and exactly why Nintendo I think the Wii won't do much better than the GameCube.
How come I say the exact same thing as that article and I get called an ass-hole for it?

Um, because SSB:B is meant to be used with a traditional control scheme?

Quote:
"We found that trying to implement too much motion-sensory functionality can get in the way of the game. We're looking at keeping the control simple, as it has been," said Sakurai. "The Wii hardware has sockets for the GameCube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet."
And you don't get called an ass-hole because of your video game market analysis, but rather because you're often kind of an ass-hole.

So like, they're putting out a marquee title that doesn't use the whole point of the system? What's the point in that? Its like putting a title on the Xbox that isn't Live-enabled....its just dumb.

Forgot about the GCN controllers for a moment.

Lurch, they tried to implement the new controls for the new Smash Bros., but it didn't work. It's sure to be a big seller, though. Especially because people who are put off by the remote are considering to buy a Wii because of Smash Bros. (myself included).

Mario Kart DS didn't have any use for the stylus, but it was still awesome. I guess the second screen displayed a map, but that's not really the point.

It just means that the new controller won't limit the library to motion sensitive games. It's a bit of having your cake and eating it too.

^Yeah, but the point of the DS isn't the stylus, its the DUAL SCREENS. HENCE THE NAME. JUST LIKE HOW THE POINT OF THE DS IS FOR THE DUAL SCREENS, THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE WII IS FOR THE CONTROLLER.

But I'm saying the map on the second screen of Mario Kart DS would have just been on the main screen in the corner otherwise. The second screen doesn't contribute to the game.

The point of the Wii isn't to do away with old ways of gaming, just to include some new ways.

SSB:B will make use of the Classic Controller, just to get it straight for the idiots who thought you'd use motion sensor controllers for a BUTTON MASHING game.
The Wii is not a gimmick. It let's you play older games in the series, and play new ones that look great.
For you who say PS3 beat the Wii, please stop. No one will buy the PS3. NO ONE. And that leaves the 360. Not many people will buy it as much as they used to. Because it is older. People want new crap.

I just thought about something.

Didn't the Wii controller have some kind of a shell that snapped onto it to make a traditional controller? Or did they abandon that for GCN controller compatibility? If they still have it, how much is that jacking up the controller price?

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

^They abandoned the shell for the plug-in. It was going to have Cube control ports from the start.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

They're charging 19.99 for the classic plug-in. Looks a bit more practical than snapping on a shell IMO.

Dude, are you for real? Do you seriously think people are going to start turning their backs on the 360 just when its beginning to hit its stride and release true next-gen titles, like 'Gears of War', 'Lost Planet', and 'Mass Effect'? What a vivid imagination you have.

^I just watched that ten-minute video on YouTube. You know, I'm not generally one to be floored by flashy graphics, but that's literally the prettiest game I've ever seen (and loaded with kick-ass action, to boot). Damn.
