Thumbs up Super Smash Bros 64 (Nominate)

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the absence I took from the forum, but I have had a lot to deal with, returning to school has a lot of work in store for me, hehe.

I have never played on this game before, but I did own Melee, which is very much the same, from what I gather. But this, according to reviews is a top quality game. I quite look forward to downloading this on Wii.

Please nominate at least 3 games for the list of games eligible to be the next GotW by Sunday.

SSB was a good game with stages I wish were in Melee, like Hyrule Castle or Saffron City.

I didn't like how the stages were never random though.

I wish Melee kept the different entrances, and the "Select your Character" screen. Also, for some reason, I perfer the N64 graphics over the GCN's...

Very yes.

There were some excellent stages in this one that should've been stashed in Melee instead of Dream Land (Green Greens is the same thing), Yoshi's Story (again, SSBM's Yoshi's Story was the same thing), and Kongo Jungle (do I even need to say it?). Board The Platforms is more fun than Home Run Contest, too. Also, some of the cosmetics like the custom entrances rocked hardcore.

It's definitely hard to go back to after playing Melee, though, largely because of the fantastically different pace.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^The three levels you stated were remade in SSBM, though Kongo Jungle was the only reasonable one to put in. Though I prefered the large Yoshi's Island, and the old Green Greens.
I love SSB, I prefer Peach's Castle over the new one, and The Mushroom Kingdom from SSB PWNS. I have both games, so I can experience the thrill of both. The custom entrances also PWNED. Soon, I will get part 3, Brawl. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE IT PWN.

SSB was definately one of the best n64 games. I saw it as a Fighting/Party game personally, but it's still a fighting game only. And no, Melee and SSB and quite different. Same game formula, completely different games.

I'm nominating Mischief Makers for the n64(I hope it wasn't already on the list)...

SSBM made this kind of obsolete, but I could never own at Melee with Link like I did in this game.

I totally forgot about the custom entries, but they were awesome too.

I played Smash Brothers nonstop for at least two months after I got it. Melee, on and off for about two weeks.

I nominate Final Fantasy 3/6 for SNES.

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

For shame.

I really liked the levels Hyrule Castle and Saffron City; I think they should've been included in Melee as well.

I like SSB and SSBM about equally, actually. Granted, 'Melee' did a bad thing in toning down the hilariously over-powered characters like Fox and Yoshi, but, on the other hand, it gave us both the Ice Climbers and an excuse to shout 'DOCTOR MARIO IS NOT A REAL DOCTOR! DO NOT ALLOW HIM TO TOUCH YOUR GENITALS!' during matches (not that I've ever needed an excuse for that kind of thing).

Assuming it hasn't been GotW already, I'd nominate 'Skate or Die' (NES).

I said others should have been brought back instead of those three.

What? I agree with you about Yoshi, but how did Fox get toned down? In Melee he is one of the fastest characters, has a ranged attack, has fast falling (less juggling), and can use the rather useful reflector. It appears to me that he improved during the change from SSB to SSB:M.

^I perceived a slight lowering in the intensity of Fox's A-attacks (not as drastic as in Yoshi's case, but still there). It's possible I just imagined it, I suppose.

Yes, Fox's power was lowered, but his speed as well as many abilities were heavily increased. That, and the ability to keep his Reflector on even when he hits the ground while holding it in the air making him even more broken. He is broken, albeit harder to use, but still broken.
