Sonic Advance 2 has been available in Japan since mid-December of last year, but THQ today has officially revealed that it will publish the Sega-produced sequel in the US this spring. This announcement probably (read: definitely) had something to do with the fact that the original Sonic Advance sold more than 500,000 copies for the publisher. Which is a huge number for Game Boy Advance.

In Sonic Advance 2, Dr. Eggman is up to his old tricks again, and the world's fastest hedgehog must put a stop to it. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are back, joined by a new character: Cream the Rabbit. Sonic Advance 2, like the original game, features multiplayer options for up to four Game Boy Advance systems using the Game Link Cable. Players can also raise Chaos and play mini games within the included Tiny Chao Garden...which can then be transferred to the GameCube Sonic Adventure 2: Battle game through the use of the GameCube/GBA cable.

The release of this title marks the continuation of the publishing agreement between THQ and Sega. No release date was announced, but expect the game to ship around March in the US.
