My favourite video game storyline is from the 'Soul Blade/Calibur' series. No real reason...it just sort of stuck with me.

Phantasy Star Online is an intresting story, as in you can play the game without encoutering anything but the most basic plot points. Only by exploring the entirity of Ragol and playing all the missions does the strange (And disturbing) story reveal itself...
I thought the Grandia II storyline was well dodgy when it got nearer the end, if they'd kept it simpler I wouldve liked it better. And the ending was ssoo cheesy. It was a class game though.

Chrono Trigger chews up all game storylines and swallows 'em up.

Baldur's Gate 2 for PC. Now there is a LOT to that storyline, things are happening constantly, and its hard to keep up sometimes. But the further you get into this game, the more you realise what an epic adventure it is and how wonderfully portrayed the world of Amn and its inhabitants really are. This is probably the most immersive game as far as setting and storyline goes.
