| Guest | Paraphrased from NGC magazine Well, it's a mixed bag of good and bad news. Sega Europe have the game finished, and working online (As demonstrated to journalists at Sega Europe's HQ.) The game itself, save for an act of God, will be coming out on March 7th. However, Infogames, Sega's European publisher, are "Still in discussions" with Nintendo Europe as to when the Modems/Broadband adaptors will hit PAL Shelves. Whereas Nintendo themselves are claiming on their website they will be out in time for the games release in three weeks time, other sources are claiming dates anything from the 1st to the 21st of March. Basically, no-one knows what’s going on, especially Gosen's cronies. The good news is that SoE has confirmed that both GC net adaptors are region free, so if you're desperate to go online from day 1, nothing is stopping you from importing. In terms of cost, PSO on it's own will cost £40, the standard price for a new GC game. Adaptor and game/adaptor prices have not been announced. The first 30 days online play are free, and after that, £4.99 a month (Slightly less than the US version) , which can be bulk bought for discounts. Good news on the Keyboard front, too - a GC keyboard will be released in the UK only sometime in May. Finally, the EU version contains some slight fixes from both the Japanese and US versions. Quite what they are is unclear, but SoE said that they are "Extremely Confident" that the system is hack free, even using the newly-released Action Replay. Basicly, despite Gosen's best efforts to screw everything up, it looks like Sega and Infogames are finially get the 'cube online worldwide. ![]() [ February 20, 2003, 08:29 PM: Message edited by: Jolteon: Official SOAP member ] |
