In a recent Yahoo! Finance article written by Patrick Seitz, it is speculated that the Grand Theft Auto series may be headed to multiple platforms as soon as the Rockstar/Sony exclusivity contract runs out. An excerpt from the article:

"The last two Grand Theft Auto games have provided an immersive story with multiple coinciding missions. The next one is due out in 2004. A month later, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City finish exclusive run on Sony's PlayStation 2 and will be available for Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's GameCube. 'And they will sell, like, a jillion copies,' [Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael] Pachter said."

Now, I'm not quite sure if I believe an analyst who uses "jillion" to represent sales figures, but this is something to keep an eye on.

It would make sense if they did so. The game will sell hundreds of thousands of copies more if it's available on every system.

I feel like one of the very few who thinks the game isn't all that great.
