I've just reached the part in Jupiter Lighthouse where the Saturos/Menardi clones tell you to come light the beacon. Of course, you have to leave 1/2 your party behind to rescue Garet and Mia and heal Isaac and Ivan. Of course, as soon as you toss in the Jupiter Star, the Saturos/Menardi clones attack you. The whole world except my party sees this coming three miles away. I now need to fight the Boss at 1/2 party strength, with the rest of my party showing up every two turns. Is it just me, or is this a contrived plot device to make it possible for you to lose the battle? If I went into battle with my full party, no problem. Summon rush at the start, liberal use of Jenna's Healing Aura, keep hitting them until they die. Instead, I end up cowering for two turns, trying desperately to keep Felix and Piers alive until Jenna shows up. By the time she does, Piers is usually stunned and nearly dead. Despite Healing Aura, he's generally downed soon afterwards. By the time Sheba shows up, I've usually lost two party members. What really drives me nuts is the sheer number of idiotic decisions the game forces me to make to put me in this situation. First, we catch Agatio/Karst (the clones) at a disadvantage, and let them leave, after collecting Isaac's Mars Star and promising to light the beacon immediately--which, of course, we do, leading to aforementioned problem. What I would have done differently: 1) I would not have given Agatio/Karst the chance to leave. Heroic honor be damned, if you're given an advantage, you use it. When I found them in a weakened state, I would have kicked their butts eight ways from Greenbeansville, and rescued my former party. 2) If, for some reason, I had to let them go sans fight, I would not have rushed up to the beacon. I would have taken the time to see that my former party was rescued and healed, then gone up with my full party...and possibly Isaac and friends too, after explaining why I wanted to light the beacons and how I distrusted the Saturos/Menardi clones. 3) If I had to rush up to the Lighthouse Aerie, I'd have left the Mars Star with Jenna/Sheba/Kraden so Agatio/Karst wouldn't be able to attack me yet, as they wouldn't be able to steal the Mars Star. Is there any way around beginning the battle with two party members? Is not, do you have any suggestions? (Agatio and Karst always go before Felix and Piers, which means I have to spend the first two turns casting healing spells.) |

The game will continue even if you lose. First off, try equiping Djinn to boost your stats to the best of what they can be. Try aiming for the higher level classes. Second, don't use summons. They may do lots of damage, but they cut your stats in half. Your better off using magic spells to stay in control with a combination of single djinn that have defensive, stat boosting or healing abilities. This should keep you alive more than long enough from the rest of your party to show up. Then you can do whatever you want. |

I am also incredibly pissed that the designers force my character to be a noble idiot. Would it hurt the game so much to give you the ability to take your full party up there? |
