As I've said, my sole complaint is that they ditched Dixie Kong and put Tiny in instead. I like Tiny, too, I just wish they hadn't completely left out Dixie. At any rate, my favorite part of that game is Frantic Factory. Except for the arcade part, which I've yet to beat. Blasted oldschool arcade impossible levels-- I love the Frantic Factory music, tying in creepyness to everyday wind-up toy sounds. It's well done. And the boss is INSANELY awesomely fun, with an AWESOME remix of the music to go with it. This level is pure WIN. Now, for anyone who actually LIKES DK64, what was your favorite level? |

I played through it twice (the second time with all bananas) and have little recollection of the game. Clearly, I didn't find it very memorable. It was way too much of a collection-fest. |

| Señor Member | If you think Slimb Climb is hard, just wait until you get to Toxic Tower. I was stuck on that stage for a year. By the way, CuccoLady, did you know each DKC game has a sound test? |

The characters were dull and unmemorable, the levels (as Dragoon so put it) involved too much running around collecting things, and the story was bland. If the game were a cereal, it would be oatmeal: wholesome, but boring. On the pro side, some of the boss fights were memorable (Mad Jack was fun; Kardboard Kut-Out was interesting), and the implementation of instruments, weapons and special moves was nice. I also enjoyed seeing the animal pals (Rambi, Enguarde, Squaks) in 3D minigames. |

Irritating gameplay, unpleasant graphics, and the fact that the series has been hyped to insane proportions makes me never want to see that stupid monkeys grinning face ever again. But the music! My God the music is fantastic! That's my two bits, I'm sticking to them. |

Gender: Posts: 1,576 Thanks: 0 Thanked 76 Times in 57 Posts | Lighting Lookout is the most annoying level in a platform game. Ever. Animal Antics made me want to break the controller in half.... Until I got the bonus, DK coin. and beat the level. I beat the lost world and ended up getting 103%, which is the best you can get. As for the music in DKC2, The Brambles music and the wood's music was the best. I also completed Slime Climb on the first try. It's not THAT hard to beat, as long as you move fast. WEB WOODS! Jesus christ, I HATE that level SO MUCH! It has to be the hardest non Lost World level in the entire game. Other levels I hated: Red Hot ride (Jumping from ballon to ballon gets annoying really fast.) Glimmer's Galleon (Even with the slightest bit of light, the level sucks. All the beehive levels (Except Rambi Rumble, that chase scene when King Zing after you is both haunting and awesome at the same time. Don't get me even STARTED on Parrot Chute Panic) Gusty Glade (The wind was so uncooperative.) Web woods (As explained above, I hate this level so much. throughout the entire second half of a level, your essentially making webs and jumping on them a trillion times, avoiding mini necky's the whole time. Plus, as Squitter the spider, you can't jump on anything.) All the levels in K. rool's keep (Arctic Abyss, Windy well (escpecially windy Well) Castle Crush, the list goes on. It's only now that I realize that all the levels in K. Rool's keep has two words tha begin with the same letter. All the lost world levels (Exept Jungle Jinx, that one is easy enough.) Screech's sprint. (All the time, I just want to get a zapper and blast Screech into smithereens.) There ya have it folks. Music is awesome. Im litsening to the Bramble tune right now, and It's the BEST song in the game. gameplay and graphics and everything else is awesome. Last edited by VWF_champion; 01-03-2008 at 06:45 AM. |

I have officially pwned Slime Climb's buttocks. TAKE THAT, YE LOUSY FISH. *shakefist* I also beat the next level, with all the barrels and the thorn bushes and stuff. I'm currently on the boss. Quote:
Now, let's see... It is true that DK64 has a lot of irritating collecting stuffs 'n' all, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I love exploring each place with different characters, each with different abilities... you uncover new stuff every time. Also, each character has a part about them that makes them fun... except for Lanky, who can die. >> Anyway, I know very few see eye-to-eye with me on this one (NO NEED FOR COMMENT GALEF), but my opinion stands. However, it's always interesting to hear other people's input, to hear two sides of something. So, aside from there being too much exploring, what else do some dislike about this game? | |

If you need any help, I have gotten everything this game can offer, and I'll be more than glad to back you up. DK64 wasn't much to me, maybe because I'm more of a platform guy than a 3-D guy. No denying there were some hilarious moments, including that giant crocodile guy humping DK Isles. Heh. |
