If Mario is in Super Smash Bros., does that make it a Mario game? Not really. The game is named for Diddy, and it's in a completely different setting from every other DK game with only a handful of characters in the game relating to Donkey Kong. Luigi's Mansion? Not really a Mario game, even if his brother is the star. 3D Galactic Pinball? Not a Metroid game, despite appearances by Samus. NES Golf? Not a Mario game, despite Mario's presence. Punchout? Not a Mario game, despite Mario's presence. |
