Greetings. It's time for this weeks Nintendo game of the week. As you can see, The Legend of Zelda won last weeks vote therefore we discuss it for this week.

I've left the Paper Mario 2 topic open, so you can still give your opinions on that.

Whilst you discuss this weeks game, please cast your vote for next weeks game of the week. You'll notice that for the first time, I'm including games of the past.

Super Mario Bros DS
Super Metroid
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Earthbound
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

(BTW, before you start saying 'Oh, there's not enough information on this game', let me say you don't need info to discuss. You could discuss some of the screenshots, discuss some of your interpretations of the game etc).

This game looks awesome. I'm going to reserve it whenever they announce a release date.

I'd really like to see how this game will play. It looks different.

I vote MKDD

Earthbound.

Now this game should make those people calling Wind Waker "Celda" shut up.

This game is so intriguing, simply because we've seen so little of it, but it's enough to see that they are reworking the formula in very interesting ways.

I vote Super Mario DS.

The game looks amazing judging by the trailer. The epic feel of Ocarina of Time mixed with the Wind Waker's improved engine. How could we lose?

When it comes out I hopefully will have enough money to get it.

I vote Earthbound!

Wow, this game has me going me going schizo in anticipation.

I'm really expecting an awesome, epic storyline. While talking with Wyborn in the Zelda forum we came up with some great ideas/fantasies.

I really hope there's an army in this one. *crosses fingers*

There's also a slight chance that it'll suck and we'll all hate it, though there's not really much of a chance here.

I didn't like Wind Waker much. The graphics were absolutely breathtaking, but the gameplay lacked. A lot.

Anyone know if they gave it a name yet?

my friend (who is known to lie somewhat often) said it was going called Promises Kept or something like that. Haven't heard anything about that yet.

I haven't heard that anywhere, so your friend's probably lying.

And I vote Super Mario DS.

I think if they had a name in mind, they would release it.

Definitely what I was hoping for. Trees. Real ones. And no goddamn sailing.

The biggest thing that OoT sorely missed was.. open, explorable forestry. That's what I'd like. More damn trees.

I agree. When I saw Lord of the Rings, one thing that struck me was that that was the kind of lanscape I wanted for a Zelda game. Mossy boulders, big trees... They need to just rip off Middle Earth. As it was, OoT was more like the Midwest...
