| Veteran Member Join Date: Sep 2000 Location: The Netherlands Gender: Posts: 17,094 Thanks: 105 Thanked 177 Times in 119 Posts | It's kind of odd that I am posting such a topic, because I was always one of the people who told MM "who the hell cares if someone can play through a game very fast?". But it gets a lot more interesting if you can see footage. The following link contains many speedruns and other speed records of Nintendo games, including all Metroid games, many Mario games, many Zelda games and SSBM (break the targets records). I've seen quite some footage already and I am very impressed. A lot of the time you're really amazed that something can be done. I think the most impressive video I've seen was the 1:04 speedrun of Metroid Prime (remember when we were amazed someone had done it in 1:46?). I always download from Europe archive (obviously). I've seen quite a few now. I also was very impressed by the GoldenEye videos. I'm not a record-player myself. I play until I complete a game, and I ocassionaly play through it again, but always very leisurely. |
