The Megaman Battle Network series - VGF

They were pretty good.

MMBN 1 was pretty good, it had some flaws, but it was still pretty good.

MMBN2 is my favourite and probably the best Megaman game since Megaman 7 and X. (Legends was okay, but it needed more camera control). I liked how it blacks out the chips you can't use if you select one chip, as well as kicking Gospel's ass with the Lifesword 3 (600 Damage baby!!!), and how the Navi's HP was more realistic than in MMBN1.

MMBN3 is pretty much showing the sign in Deterioration in the Series greatness. For one, I found it a bit harder to enjoy the game, and I failed to be hooked on it, except when Mamarou(sp) was being operated on and Plantman was disrupting it and almost killing him, and of course the N1 battles.

Megaman Battlechip challenge brought physical pain. It was a Strategy game, which was pretty much the bait to get all Strategy lovers to play it-But the bait was too tasty for our own good. I was pushing buttons and assigning chips, but I didn't really feel like I was actually playing it, it just randomly executes the chips. If that's what operating a Navi is really like, then if they ever exist. FORGET IT. It does have some nice (If not recycled) graphics. Plus, Capcom's not even going to Include Ring and Turboman.EXE in MMBN4! I AM GREATLY DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU DON'T PUT SOME KICKASS CHARACTERS IN THE SEQUEL!! YOU WILL DIIIIEEEE!!!!!

MMBN4 looks...Okay. It does show some potential, but I don't know if it'll be any better than the Embarrassment to Megaman (Besides the Americanized Roll in the Megaman anime) game that is Megaman Battle Chip Challenge or the not-so-great sequel that MMBN3 is.

What are your opinions on the Megaman Battle Network series?

I only played one, and I didn't really like it. I don't like the random battles and the 'gotta catch 'em all' aspect. I prefer the MM platform games.

^Was that MMBN3 perchance? Because MMBN3 had a boring Pokemon thing with Viruses.

And apparantly, the Japanese had MMBN games on the Wonderswan Colour and they played alot like the platformers.

The Wonderswan games are basically the Original series and Battle Network games mixed. The platmormer/shooting Original with the weapons of Battle Network.
Network 2 rocked. First one I played.

No, I actually meant to say I only played part one. Still, the chip collecting reminded me of Pokemon catching (but not as enjoyable). That's why I am stuck now at the part where you can only battle the WWW if you get enough different chips.

I loved MMBN3, but not as much as MMBN2. Both 2 and 3 had so much stuff to do after beating the game, especially 3. 2 is my favorite.

I also really look forward to getting MMBN4 this month. As with a lot of games, you either like this series, or you don't. I very much like it.

MM:BN2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I did, however, think that Battle Network 3 was not as good as 2. I never played Battle Chip Challenge.

To Koga: I don't recall there ever being a door you need to go through to fight the WWW that requires a different number of chips. Are you sure you're not at the door deep in the internet that leads to the Hero Sword?

It's not a door you need to go through. You have to talk to someone to get a password (a woman in the city with the traffic lights), but she won't give it to you unless you collect more chips.

Basically I thought the same thing. 2 was awesome, and 3 was good, but not as great. And if you had the extreme displeasure of playing it, Mega Man Battle Network Transmission was the worst game I've personally ever played (yeah yeah it isnt on the gba, but its part of the series unfortunately)
