GameCube gets a great, well needed RPG.

And I will get it too, when it comes out in Europe (19th of November).

I agree with the review for the most part. Although I don't think the cliches at the beginning of the game are a fault, I think they make the game better as a whole.

^How do they make the game better? To me they were a distraction.

At the very beginning, the cliches made me go "Oh god, why did I buy this game?" but then foreshadowing struck. I think as early even as that stupid Renegade going "They still think we're Desians!" or... well, Marble made me suspect there was more of the game. Then there's Remiel. *kicks him*

Not a bad review ^__^ I'd rate it higher, but then i know I'm obsessed. XD; *self admittal*

I would say that's a good score. Tommy Tallarico of Judgement Day gave it a 5.5, but then again this is Tommy Tallarico we're talking about. That guy wouldn't know a good game if it hit him in the face with a sledgehammer.

I absolutely dispised that guy from the moment I saw him. It was so satisfying beating him to a pulp.

^ For a minute I thought you were talking about Tommy Talarico.

The cliches made you realize how incredibly well-developed the characters were--how much they had grown. Also, it seemed kind of like a bash on FFX, and I'm totally for that.

YES Wing Zero, YES~! YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

..Oh, and don't go around spoilering yourself. It's quite important that you do not. Just know that the early "cliche-ness" in the game is not what it seems. GET IT! PLAY IT! LOVE KRA-- er, uh, love the game!

I've been hearing rumors of it being ported to the PS2 with extra features.

Anyone care to confirm those rumors?

It's true and it's not.
A PS2 version is being made with extras. However, Because the translation and voice acting were completely paid for by Nintendo it's been anounced that the PS2 version will probably never leave Japan.

All those extras we'll never get to see...

Doesn't look like Tycho from Penny Arcade agrees with us.

From the latest update:

The other half of the conversation has to do with these Goddamn hybrid action systems that have come into phase in role-playing games. Tales of Symphonia is one of the worst games I've played in recent memory.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

And RPGamer doesn't agree with us either...Geez, and most people are trashing it because they are typical anime-haters.

Penny Arcade is stupid. I don't give a crap what it says.

Yes, Wing Zero, it's great stuff. Buy it now.

Being the obsessed fan that I am, heeeeeere you go:

http://psx2tech.com/talesofforum/viewtopic.php?t=87

The person there is putting up a lot of screenshots and video clips of anime scenes and other additions. In the later pages you have people translating, ranting, etc, one of them being me.

http://psx2tech.com/talesofforum/viewtopic.php?t=81

Same forum, same person, critiquing the PS2 version (apparently there are some pretty bad cons to it; I for one am content with the GC version, given the drawbacks... ).

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/f...ia_changes.txt

A guide to the PS2 changes.

While you're there, read some Character Affected Dialogue:

In regards to Penny Arcade... this has got to be only the second time or so I actually disagree with them. Their main gripe is with the fighting system and the AI... which I find is absurd... o-o (Plus, the fighting system is not "new" ... all the other Tales games have had it so.)
