If I'm not mistaken it's only for Europe. I haven't registred stars in ages. Partly because I don't buy that many games anymore, and partly because the prizes aren't worth it.

So I think this petition is a good idea.

In Europe you get a number of stars (ususally 250) with every official Nintendo product or game you purchase. You can register the stars on NoE's site through a password. You can use your stars to purchase other goodies. Usually screensavers and wallpapers, but occasionally a Game (LoZ Collector's Edition), a Wavebird Controller and at one time even a GBA.

I've never used it either.

I did get the LoZ Collector's Edition by registering Mario Kart and 1080.
