Maybe you should try the Playstation forum, where this topic should belong.

It's an Internet scam with "Get Rich Quick" or "Get This Expensive Product For Free" as the bait. You receive something saying "In order to get a lot of money or this wonderful product, just send us fifty bucks and get a bunch of people to join our club". Let's say you're a total dumbass, and send the money and join. Chances are, you're not going to find the right number of people to join. But if you do, they have to send the scammers money and get more people to join. Any people those people get to join then have to send the scammers money and get more people to join. The process continues until the pyramid essentially collapses, and the scammers make off with everyone else's money.

You might be thinking "But if they only charge fifty dollars and you get a $300 PSP out of it, how do they make money?" Extremely few people will make that member roundup goal, so the scammers won't have to send many prizes.

Sometimes, you don't have to send money, but you have to give the scammers your home or e-mail address, which they in turn sell to magazine subscriptions, spammers, porn sites, and so on.
