I read the manuals for controls and things, and to find out the backstory sometimes. I loved the SSBM manual, gave you a quick intro on all the starting characters.

And yeah, in The Minish Cap, Ezlo bugged the everloving crap outta me, giving you hints every time it turns on and saying random crap when you enter a room with a puzzle.

I sometimes read the manuals to find out the story. Tutorials I do like in a game are the ones in games like Ratchet and Clank where the action doesn't stop and the thing you need to know is right at the bottom of the screen. "To make a long jump, press R1 and X at the same time."

It's amazing the intelligence level of the youth these days compared to when we were their age.
And just how old are you?

A lot of these people are 16+. I think TML and Koga are a little over 20.

I'm 17. Turning 18 in....8 months.

But by youth, I think they mean 13 and down.

Yes you are, junior.

Those are not the only people here above 20, there are others of us old people without anything better to do.

A car trip just reminded me of something else that was annoying about Fire Red/Leaf Green.

The game starts off with a long tutorial of what the buttons do, and Oak walks you through how to fight at the beginning. Why? This was never done in ANY of the previous Pokemon games. Not even Ruby and Sapphire.

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

I'm an ancient 21 years old

Anyway, replaying Zelda 1 for the first time in years, right after going through Minish Cap, was an interesting experience.

No starting tutorial, no explanation of what items do or how the controls work... just a sword, and you're on your way.

Aside from fairly vague clues here and there, you figure things out on your own... and it's fun.

It'd be nice if the games would just give you the option when you start a new game to turn gameplay tips on or off.

I'm 16. But given my tastes for Elvis, the Twilight Zone, and the Beatles, I'm like a 50-year-old in a teenager's body.

19.

I know Tritoch is mid-20s, and Shane is pushing 30 (if he isn't already there). Anybody got that beat?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I think Shane is from 1978, which would make him 26.

Okee-dok, then. Still, anyone? I'll gladly teach you what color the sky is if you respond.
