Well, that actually varies.

When it's clear in the daytime, it's blue.

When it's clear in the nighttime, it's black.

When it's cloudy, it's gray.

At sunset, it's pink, orange, purple, and red.

It means you're either living on Venus, or when it starts raining everybody needs to be inside.

23, bleh.

I grew up with those classic NES games, no tutorials were needed.

It's just that my favorite systems predate the births of many, so I can't help but think of them as young and unfortunate in having grown up on the N64 or PSX. The kind of people that will never get to experience the same arcades I did.

^ so your child is older than you?

I grew up with the NES, and somewhat with the SNES (although I didn't have many games for it). Arcades were never big business over here.

Random, somewhat fitting fact of the moment:

Kiwis lay eggs almost as big as the mother (poor thing). This is so that the chick hatches pretty much full grown, and the parents don't have to spend any time raising it. They feed it for about two days, then kick it out.

I think part of the reason that they have so many tutorials in these games is that games back in the NES era were about as easy as you can get. Like, playing SMB for five seconds showed you everything you needed to do. Now there are a bunch of secret weird button combinations that have to be done just to do things in some certain games (In Metroid Prime, it took me forever to learn how to use the scanner) However, I dont think theres much excuse for all this "This is a rupee. Its like money!" crap. Gamers should know what a rupee is anyways. Its not that hard. Its a jewel on the ground and when you pick it up, it makes a BLING! sound and you can buy things with it. Is that so hard to figure out without some weird bird shouting at you?

ah yes, and in response,

On the contrary, I grew up playing an SNES and later bought an NES off ebay so you can still experience them if your okay with playing 8 bit graphics games (which most kids ARNT)

I grew up with the '64, and while I love it, I long for a SNES, especially since EarthBound and SMRPG won't come out on the GBA. I envy you, AI...

Personally, I think part of the fun is when you blast some enemy away using a random button combination. "Whoah, since when could I do that?"

^Heh, I remember when I first stumbled across the combo attacks in Gauntlet Dark Legacy.
Let's just say green knight started gaining a lot more levels after that.

And remember, "GREEN KNIGHT has gained a level!!! bluewizardhasgainedalevel."

My love for Nintendo kicked off with Mario Kart 64. Shortly after that it was SM64. So I started off with an N64 really.

Hmm, I started off on the GB and SNES....Interestingly enough, I prefer SNES/NES games over newer generation games any day of the week.

I started off with the NES. Okay, it was Sesame Street 1-2-3. But it was still the NES.

My first real game was Blaster Master.

Meh, it's not that interesting. In fact, it's rather simple. Old games with good gameplay beat new games with crap gameplay but good graphics any day of the week. And most games today have crap gameplay. There. I said it. It's that simple.
