nes problem

I just picked up a regular nintendo. It came with duck hunt and mario bros. The duck hunt part works fine mario bros comes to the start screen but when you try to play it does nothing put play the preview. I thought it was the game so i just bought mario bros the game and it does the same thing. All my other games work fine. does anyone have a clue whats wrong or what to do.

Yes ive tried all buttons Ive tried other controlers too. It basicly acts like the controler dosent work. mario 2 and 3 works fine. my wife just actually beat mario 3 right at this moment.

Just sounds like a bad cartridge. If you can trade it in, do so.

Yeah, when just one game doesn't work it's usually a bad cartridge. Perhaps it's dusty inside? If not just go with CaptHayFever's advice and trade it in if you can.
