They would have to be in order to play games that require the GBA/GCN link cable, like Four Swords Adventures and Crystal Chronicles. Now, that got me thinking: the new controller would have to be pretty similar to the GCN one in order to play GCN games... So do you think Nintendo will pull a Sony and just use the same controller for GCN and Revolution? |

Does anyone know if that's been confirmed? [ May 20, 2005, 12:21 PM: Message edited by: Cravdraa ] |

Unless they use a system different from the Wavebird, then it may not work. The Wavebird friggin eats batteries up. Of course, I doubt they will use the same system for the Revolution controller, although I wouldn't be surprised if the controller followed the fashion statement of the PS3 and XBox 360. |

Mine's still going strong after 5 weeks of everyday use; flashlights & calculators are pretty much the only other battery-powered things I own that last longer. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

It could be that the Wavebird I used before was my brothers, and... well, yeah. He's a rage gamer. Then there's the matter of built-in rumble. Having THAT in will shorten battery power a LOT. |

Then again, after cross referencing all of my remotes, the only button that needs to be added is a Select button from the NES and the SNES. I also hope there is a Game Boy Player type periferal that plays all GB, GBC, GBA, and DS games... but that was off topic |

Probably five weeks ago I think/ hope they will let you do your own button layout. I think the Z button on the GCN controller could function as a select button. N64's Z would just be GCN's L (like in OoT and MM on the collector's disk). |

It's ludicrous to expect people to keep slapping batteries into one of those, especially after Nintendo's mastered the use of rechargable power sources. ![]() |

L007, I think Duracell. Maybe Energizer. I dunno, just whatever they had at the bookstore that day. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
