Actually, he only jumps higher.

Mario is faster and stronger than Luigi.
He was in SMB2, SSB, SSB:M, and in Mario Power Tennis.

for optimum kingdom saving, both brothers are needed. Mario for the heavy hitting, and Luigi for the high jumping. don't forget about the combo attacks.

Interestingly enough, in the Lost Levels Mario and Luigi actually jump the same height. Mario needs a running start to reach his max height, while Luigi jumps his max standing still but never gets any higher even if he is running.

I also think one has better traction than the other (I forgot which one), so that you don't slip too much after making a long jump on a small ledge.

Well, when Mario hits Luigi with a hammer, Luigi goes underground, making him hard to hit. When Luigi hits Mario with a hammer, Mario shrinks, making him easy to squish.

Plus, Luigi uppercut a ROB to the moon in a battle against the PSP. I haven't seen Mario do much of anything against it.

Well, they both have thier strengths and weaknesses. Both have also proven that they can save the day alone. They would do a better job together, but I prefer Luigi. I see Mario as the bolder, rush headlong into danger one. While Luigi is the more reluctant, bashful hero. Skill-wise, I think both have cool attacks, but to me, Luigi's are cooler.
