I thought DK64 was a really good game, but not as good as the other 3D platformers that were already on the 64 back then: SM64 and B-K. Rare went a bit over the top with all the collectibles and some mini-games were extremely frustrating. My main complaint about the game was the lack of imagination of the level design. With exception of the awesome toy factory level, they were just the standard levels: jungle, desert, water, forest, cave and ghosthouse. Many of which were in B-K already. While discussing this game the first 5 posters may nominate a game for next week. [ August 16, 2005, 10:44 AM: Message edited by: Koga ] |

Her posts on it were interesting. She also just put up a review and a small shrine on her site to it. This week I'll nominate Mega Man X for the SNES. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? For the most part, I'd say it was a pretty lame "Cookie-Cutter" style game. The mini-games and collection quests were so LoZ: Wind Waker "Hunting for the Triforce" annoying. I never beat it, because I just lost interest. I'm going to go "Super-Old Skool," and nominate Dragon Warrior for the NES. |

| Senior Member | Looks interesting, thanks to Flying Omelette, maybe I should use the Revolution to download it. Heh, time to nominate! Um, um... UM, lets see... not sure if its been game of the week before, Banjo Kazooie. If done before, MegaMan Zero. [ August 15, 2005, 07:09 PM: Message edited by: X-3 0 ] |

It was kind of fun for the time. I'll go ahead and nominate Balloon Fight for the Nes..a true classic arcade type game. |

| Senior Member | Mega Man Zero for me (we can vote ones we nominated, right?) Very good game, very hard, the art is also nice, and its one of the best MegaMan games I've played. |

As for DK64, when compared to the awesome DKC games on SNES (which, if you think of it, has better looking 3D graphics than the N64 game -- which is weird considering SNES is a 2D system), this game hardly even comes close. |

I like the DKC games better, though (although i haven't played DKC3 yet). |

Also, it had so many collectibles and unlockables that it makes me wonder if Rare was trying to cram as much replayability into it as they could. It worked, but only to a certain extent. I currently have 98% completion and I'll be damned if I try to go for 100%. I vote Megaman X. |
