Arrow

Now they'll have to make a game where you have to use them like a Nunchaku.

I guess this may make First-Person Shooters on the console a bit easier, or they can just bring back the light gun, it'll make it much easier than what we've got now.

I hate it when people don't read all posts in a topic.

There's no problem with the games for other Nintendo consoles, since you can also connect a Gamecube controller to it.

^ Actually you CAN'T connect a GCN controller.

There will be an add-on that makes the Revolution controller look like a conventional controller.

Here is a FAQ IGN made, which includes a mock-up on what the Controller shell may look like.

This controller design isn't exactly all that out of left field.

Case in point:

And:

There was also a small, round, "orange sliced in half" cordless controller for the Super NES, that was designed for mainly RPG play. It was, in fact, the predeccesor to the pic of the top controller. I believe it was featured in an article in Nintendo Power magazine, Volume #58. But, I'll be damned if I go spelunking through my closet right now, to find one Power magainze out of almost 150 in there, besides all the other mess in there.

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Nintendo made a deal with ASCIIWare to design the Revolution's controller.

I think I remember seeing a flap that flips open on the side that allows GCN controllers to be inserted, as well as memory cards (GCN memory cards, that is...).

Unless they changed the design since E3, you can connect a GCN controller.

I hope they haven't changed the design because the original revolution rocked!, I just feel uncomfortable about the controller looking like a TV remote.

but if you didn't own a 'cube in the first place you'd be screwed on the SNES and N64 games.

Yeah. Most of the time, no one wants to believe you're as much of an idiot as you come off, but time and again you prove us wrong. Ironic, isn't it?

He was talking to dun typ like this (Chunky).

I think you weren't serious, but I'm still going to point out that you can still by a GameCube controller to play any pre-revolution games, even if you've never owned a GCN yourself.

Nintendo just shot third-party support in the head.

This whole thing doesn't say to me "unique and innovative", it says "another crappy Nintendo gimmick which has features no game will take advantage of".

Greater multiplayer support(8, 16, not 4!), balanced buttons, and heavy-duty play controllers(for 2 hands) are what they should be working on.

Instead they give us a remote control with a bunch of unneccesary add-ons and crazy lowercase a and b button placement.

Unless they pull out some actual good games in decent quantity, which isn't likely given Nintendo's most recent track record, I'm going to do what I've always been hitting myself for not doing when it came to the DS and Gamecube and sit this one out.

Edit: But I do appreciate the return of the trigger button which was once Z. Oh, how I've missed you.

I saw the video on IGN and I began to see some real potential in this controller. I think I'm gonna have some real fun with it.

All the new things possible with this controller are exciting. It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo uses it in their own games, and whether 3rd parties pick it up, or let it be.
