You know what else has great possibilities? The DS touchscreen. And has it helped Nintendo give us lots of quality games?

That's what the Revolution controller is going to give us. A few hits, but a lot of crappy gimmicky games.

Wow, I totally believe that you have the DS, and played a lot of the games. No, really. See? This is me believing you. :\ That's an honest face.

As terrible as the controller looks, it's worth giving it a chance upon its release. As long as they have a GCN controller port, though, at least it'll give people something to fall back onto.

Sean, there are a ton of games that don't run into the split-screen problem. Although, yeah, I suppose 16 for a single console wouldn't be worth implementing. Good point.

And Curt, I own 3 DS games and have direct access to 4 more(a sibling owns them). I have purposely been avoiding new games because most suck and I don't want to keep wasting my money on them.

So what, you bought some bad games and now you're the official DS guru? You know that just speaks to your judgement as a consumer, not the integrity of an entire platform.

Someone accused me of not having any DS games, so I pointed out that I did. I even admitted that I have been avoiding most of the newer games. And apparently you translated that into "I am an official DS guru". Try again.

And yes, we're all speaking as consumers here. Unless one of you wants to tell me you're really the CEO of a game company, and that you're using these topics as a forum for your professional opinion.

Notice how Gylph didn't list what games he had... he probably has Pokemon Dash, Sprung, and Spiderman 2.

It goes without saying, but we'll have to wait to see some actual games to see whether Nintendo's Magic Wand turns out to be a good idea or a stupid gimmick.

Personally, I'm really excited to see what they do with it. I'm excited to actually control sword movements in Zelda, or whatever Nintendo comes up with.

I have Wario Ware: Touched (a gimmick, not a game) and Super Mario 64 DS (a good game I already have remade with gimmicks). and Mr. Driller: Drill Sprits (Yeah, that's one nobody's heard of, so you can count that out). The ones I have access to are Zoo Keeper(crap, so you can count that one out), Ridge Racer DS (three tracks, WTF) and Urbz: Sims in the City.

My sister got Nintendogs the other day, though. When she gets bored with it I might check it out, but I've been avoiding it since a quick play-through was boring as hell. But you can't judge by a quick play-through since excellent games like Paper Mario: TTYD were crappy when quickly tried out, too.

So... you haven't play Kirby Canvas Curse, Meteos, or Advance Wars DS? Play those, and you'll eat every ****ing word you said. Especially next week, when we get Castlvania DS and Trauma Center.

Glyph, those games all suck. I know they do, because of premise. I want a DS, but I'm waiting for 2 games I'm particularily interested in. You can't just buy random games and expect them to be good.

I thought you said you were exceptionally picky about what you bought and (somehow) avoided crap like the plague.

The controller,as I read somewhere,is intended to be aimed at new gamers. That shows that Nintendo is not trying to get old fans back, but instead, get a whole new group of fans.It is unfortunate,as it would seem as they went overboard on the,as you humans would say,'gimmicky' side.If it were one piece,it would not be so bad, but, since it is not,you could easily lose the controller,or,at least easier than you could lose a 1 piece controller. If the Revoloution gets great games,it could offset the controller. If it doesn't,than X-Box 360 and PS3 will win.

I heard most people were beating Down of Sorrow in five hours.

I read an article on mtv's website (might not seem a priori to be the best source, but it seemed reasonable) about Nintendogs, and the nongamers in a circle of friends loved it, while the gamers thought it was blatantly an antigame (which is what it seems like to me). Should we as gamers care that antigames will bring more nongamers to gaming? It seems to me like encouraging literature to be defined by the standards of the illiterate.
