I'm sure you're all fairly sick of this game, so I'll keep it brief.

I remember playing this as one of the first Nintendo games I got into. I remember Donut Plains 1 being particularly difficult (I was about 8, shut up ). When I grew older and got further into the game, eventually beating it, I realised it was a brilliant game.

Anyway, normal system resumes this week. So nominate 5 games by tomorrow please. Please check the GotW Archive before nominating.

I could beat the game in a day when I was 8.

This is one of the few big SNES titles that I actually played on the SNES (and not GBA). A wonderful game, which I like even better than SMB3, because of all the hidden exits there were to find.

Ahh, all the times I had on this game. Although I do hate the water levels, espically Soda Lake.

Once again, I nominate Super Castlevania IV.

I beat this game when I was young. Never did the Special world, though.

I nominate The Lost Vikings for SNES.

^It's actually better than what I thought when I did it the first time. The second time around's better.

Great game. IMO, it's the best Mario game.

Super Mario World rocks, I remember when I was seven and first played it, how I had to go through the ghost houses, the fortresses, the castles, the underground levels, the bridge levels. Oh those were good times.
I nominate Metroid for the NES.

So it's...

Super Castlevania IV (SNES)
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (SNES)
The Lost Vikings (SNES)
Phantasy Star Online (GCN)
Metroid (NES)

I vote Lost Vikings!

I definitely prefer SMW to SMB 3. It was just so one of the best games of my childhood. And with it being the first SNES game.. god, it seemed so huge. It was something completely different, in terms of scope. I still wish they would have done a proper sequel to it. SMB is still my favorite Mario title, though - probably always will be.

I vote for Metroid.

I can't decide what is my favorite, SMB3 or SMW. Both are very, very good Super Mario games. Maybe it's the fact I can beat SMW in 3 days that makes it so cool for me.

EDIT: By "beat SMW", I mean get all 96 goals... heheheh, reverse 96 to get 69.

SM3 was better, but for being the first game with Yoshi it was pretty good. The entire bowser clown-mobile was a bit off, and the items were definately downed quite a bit from 3 that had like 50 different items/costumes, but again, wasn't bad. Is definately worth playing, was probably one of the last Mario games released before the Mario genre was completely ruined and de-evolved into the joke it is today.

BTW, the nominated games don't appeal to me at all. Metroid, for no other reason that . . . well no reason at all.

I think it's more like 20, and many items were pretty useless. I think it's good they had fewer items in SMW.

^^ Ha, I love both Metroid and PSO. I just chose Metroid out of respect for its history, and that we wouldn't have Super Metroid without it
