Jim Merrick of Nintendo of Europe recently sat down for an interview with Meristation.com an online spanish magazine. During the interview Mr. Merrick discussed many topics, with quite a bit of new information coming from the interview. Here is a sample of what was discussed...

- According to Merrick, the Nintendo USB Connector that will be released the Nintendo DS later this fall allowing the wireless broadcast of internet signal will also be compatible with the Revolution.
- Just like the Nintendo DS, the Revolution will support one-disc multiplayer similiar to one cartridge multiplayer...This sounds a little strange, but we'll have to stick with it until we learn more information.
- Downloadable Nintendo 64 titles will have a better framerate when running on the Revolution
- European gamers will be able to download any game for any server. He used a European gamer downloading the Super Mario RPG from an American server as an example.
- And finally, according to Merrick there will not be a large gap in graphical power between the Revolution and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
- No Revolution software will be shown in 2005.
All sounds awesome to me.

A 2nd Rev would be connected as "Player 2" on the 1st Rev. This way, all multiplayer games on the system (Rev, Cube, N64, doesn't matter) can be played online.

Or at least that's my guess.

I'm pretty sure it means that you'll be able to have wireless LAN parties that only need one copy of the game.

Another wicked feature. They just keep tossing them on. This also means you can probably say goodbye to the necessity of split-screen, if you have the equipment. Which would just completely own.

These features actually appeal the most to me.

So EU guys* can finally get all the stuff they were once denied? That's definitely a sweet deal.

Would American or European gamers be able to get Japan-only games?

Maybe I'm just hard to please, but I fail to see what so great about downloading a complex RPG that's in a language I don't understand.

She was referring to English-speaking people downloading Japan-only RPGs.

Curt, the goal of wit is to make the other person look like an idiot, not yourself.

Oh yes, I'm an idiot because you specifically stated in your post that you were talking about downloading Japanese games, instead of the first post in general.

Now, I suggest we move on before it becomes one of those trainwreck topics that eventually gets closed.

Koga knew what I was talking about. It's not my fault you can't put two and two together properly.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious.

Also, I won't lock a topic over something as small as this.

Probably just doesn't care to be *****ed at for thinking you were referencing the current conversation, CK. Admittedly, I understood pretty quickly that the japanese games were what you were thinking of... Then again, of course japanese isn't something you're profficient in - the fact of the matter is that this was taken from a spanish/european mag, and has a lot more impact on that audience. Of course, you're not going to really care, and it wasn't something they cared enough to announce to U.S. gamers so far. Also, the idea of playing Japanese platformers isn't so frightening. It's not like RPGs are the only thing the Japanese have ever played.
