I missed the Cena/Show Match and the Raw tag titles. Highlight of the Night: Definitely the Undertaker's return, bar none. Adding Paul Bearer was a brilliant move. And his entrance was simply amazing. Playboy Evening Gown Match: *orders pizza* Evolution/Rock and Sock: I loved the pre-match promo Foley and Rock cut...a rare instance of Rock being pretty damned funny. The finish for the match was the second best of the night, as much as I hate Randy Orton, his unexpected RKO was pretty good. Christian/Jericho: I expected a Trish swerve, but not in the way they did it. I thought she would cost him, without making it seem like an accident. But a good job by them, faking me out. Good match, too. Brock/Goldberg: WORST MATCH OF THE NIGHT BY FAR. I was actually expecting this to be a pretty good match, but wow was I disappointed. Fans had to be feeling ripped off, considering the hype for this match. Although I loved Brock's flipping off the fans after the end of the match in return to their chanting at him. The crowd was KILLED after this, though. Smackdown tag titles: nothing great here. I like Scotty, but i cant stand Rikishi, and the Lesnar/Oldberg debacle killed the crowd, they were DEAD for this match. so-so match at best. Molly/Victoria: Not a bad match, crowd was still dead though...unexpected finish, as well. Poor Molly, she's hot, but now she has no hair. WWE Hall of Famers segment: Very humorous that Pete Rose made it. Eddie/Angle: This match got the crowd back into the show. This was a great match, many near falls, and definitely what i expected from two guys like Angloe and Eddie. And the finish for the match was goofy, but at the same time brilliant. Best finish of the night, too. I was laughing when Eddie's boot came off, and Angle's "What the F8CK?" expression was hilarious. and the small package was BEAUTIFULLY executed. Undertaker/Kane: Not a bad match, for these two. Plus, I didnt expect UT to beat Kane as easily as he did. But a good return for the Deadman, although i'll probably complaining about him in a few weeks. HHH/HBK/Benoit: Great match here as well. I was extremely surprised that HHH would be the one to tap. I loved Benoit's use of the Sharpshooter and the Boston Crab submissions throughout the match. That table bump he took looked SICK. HBK gave his usual good performance, and even HHH was tolerable. I also thought the postmatch celebration was memorable, with the two veterans celebrating their long long cilmb to the top, after all these years. Overall a good show. Not great, but worth the cash i forked for it. |
