ECW Returning Full-Time

Well, Sabu has signed with WWE, so he will more than likely be placed on the ECW brand.

Joey Styles "quit" the RAW announcing team tonight, so I think that plants the seeds for the ECW return

Yeah, he's going to be an integral part of the new ECW, which should come as no surprise.

No time slot yet, but expect a deal with USA to be done in the coming months. If not, WWE plans to make it an online show until a TV deal can be found.

this could be one of two things: really good or really bad.

it could be very good if its a mix of the old ECW stars and WWE's developmental talent from OVW. (and if you are against that, you need to face the fact that a lot of these ECW guys are old and won't last forever.) One rumor going around is that Tazz may end up endorsing several young guys, as a MMA instructor type character. More rumors are saying that C.M. Punk and Matt Hardy are going to be part of the new ECW (which would be a great decision, especially Punk).

p.s. latest news is that ECW might air on the Sci-Fi network.

People will say that this won't be "ECW". Maybe it won't have the violence levels of ECW past, but ECW was about putting on a show for the fans, and that definitely could be accomplished if done correctly.

Unfortunately, this is WWE we're talking about. WWE, who SOMEHOW managed to ruin Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and other stupid follies.

Yeah, but I'm not sure using ECW as a developmental territory (which has been a big possibility) is such a good idea. ECW will likely have a national TV deal, unlike OVW. Guys will get over on a national stage in ECW, then will get moved to the WWE roster? Will the ECW roster ever have any continuity if that were the case? Yeah, put younger guys in ECW, by all means. But keep them in ECW if they get over instead of "promoting" them to WWE opener status.

very true, you just don't want to bring them from ECW to the WWE, ECW is where there fans will be and the fans will want the same old guy.
