Too much inter-promotional garbage going on. Hopefully now that the WWE title mess is resolved, ECW will become its own entity. Wait, what's that? ECW's gonna be at Saturday Night's Main Event? No way. Paul Heyman's loss of control. Sure, it's Vince's product, so Vince should get the final say in everything. But no, Vince wants to strip the power away from Heyman and just turn ECW in a third WWE-style brand. Fans were drawn to ECW's unique style. What's so unique now? THE BIG SHOW IS THE ECW WORLD CHAMPION. RVD does drugs, so they need to get the belt off of him. So they give the championship to the man on the brand who least symbolizes ECW. The only reason Show's in ECW to begin with is so he can actually get a push. Now he has the distinction of being the only man to hold the WWF/E, WCW, and ECW Heavyweight titles. Plenty of old-school ECW loyalists are on the brand - Al Snow, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer - For Christ's sake, put the belt on one of these guys. Paul Heyman turns. The heart and soul of ECW gets involved in a screwjob angle. IN PHILLY. That's gonna keep the old ECW loyalists tuning in. Not. RVD and Sabu. These guys will go down in history for being ECW's nail in the coffin. With Angle (who is a terrible fit for ECW anyway, remember when he was so disgusted with a show that he threatened to sue ECW if they mentioned his name on the air?) already on the shelf, RVD and Sabu get caught with drugs, and now ECW has lost its two top stars. Granted, Sabu should be back next week, but the publicity from the arrest can't be good for neither him nor ECW. Get ready to see RVD back on Raw once his suspension is up - I doubt ECW is gonna last another 30 days. |
