The current WWE champion, Edge has been waiting for years to get his turn in the limelight. Now unquestionably the top heel on Raw, he finally will get the opportunity to shine.

Has held tag team titles with Christian Cage, Chris Benoit, and even Hulk Hogan

At 2001 Survivor Series, unified the WWF Intercontinental and WCW United States titles

Wrestling is scripted. Edge plays a character. If you naively complain that "Edge shouldn't be champ because he's cheap" or "He only wins because of that whore Lita" your post will promptly be deleted.

Edge is my current favorite WWE superstar. He's the best heel in the business (currently).

He's pretty good in the ring, and is one of the best at gimmick matches. Edge deserves the title, and I hope he can keep it for a long time. Cena should not get the title back until his popularity is back to the point it was at before WM21.

Edge has proven himself to be a better heel then the likes of Triple H. When Triple H feuded with Cena, Cena STILL absorbed the boos. Edge is one of the only people currently who can steal boos from Cena. Edge has a bright future............that is, if he doesnt get Jericho'd.

Which he doesnt. Edge is incredibly talented, and he's the current best heel in the WWE. In fact, I'm willing to say that he's the current best heel in all of wrestling.

If a champ was decided on popularity, there would never be a heel champion. I believe the word you're looking for is "overness," which is crowd reaction, be it good or bad. Edge is over as hell. (No, Nomyt. That's not a typo.) Fans love to hate him. He certainly gets enough of a reaction to be champ.
