Draft lottery topic

It's happening early, so I have made a discussion topic out of it.

Here are my thoughts on the show:
  • The draft itself was ho-hum. I think every show got at least one big wrestler (Lashley for Raw, Benoit for ECW, Flair for Smackdown), but the picks overall could have been better (and ECW should have got more of them).
  • The McMahon Appreciation Segments were at least interesting. I was surprised that Bret Hart agreed to tape a message for the show.
  • Finally, the ending where Vince McMahon's limo explodes was argueably the most shocking WWE moment in years. I'm interested where this will lead.

I'm not.

Vince being 'presumed dead' = absolute worst/sickest storyline of all time, especially when some people are going to believe it.

Wow. Wikipedia's Vince McMahon article had listed him as being legitimately dead, which is moreso pathetic than anything. The article has since been edited, thank God.

WWE blows. Seriously. Is it not possible to be shocking and suspenseful without being downright disgusting?

OH COME ON!!

You are talking like this is worse than than the Katie Vick angle!

If nothing else, it's a cliffhanger to make you want to watch next week. WWE hasn't truly had anything like that for a loooooooooong time. For the most part, Raw rotated maybe like 4 endings: Face wins bigs match, Heel wins big match, Both get knocked one, someone (usually a face) changes sides.

This is something fresh and new and (you have to agree) something you never expected.

While it's true that it provided a large deal of shock value, you have to look at the bigger picture, especially the age/intelligence of the average WWE fan. Not everyone even knows that wrestling is predetermined, or that storylines even exist. Yeah, we can look past it, but people are actually believing this s***, hence my statement about the Wikipedia article.

It's not so much the explosion that angered me. In fact, I was pretty impressed with that whole scenario. My views didn't turn sour until I went to wwe.com and read the "Mr. McMahon presumed dead" headline. The explosion didn't cross the line - the death announcement did.

Based on the stuff I heard happened on ECW last night, the angle officially sucks now.

Actually I think Shane is the heir (actually no one is technically the heir, since WWE is a public company -- i.e. it just depends on who has the most shares)

If Shane DOES get booking rights, I wonder how things would work out. He'd probably make every match a spotfest, which can be as boring as hell.
