Chris Benoit Dead

WWE is reporting that Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their Atlanta home this afternoon. No other news at this time.

And if this doesn't make Vince realize how preposterous and trivial his own "staged" death has been, then I give up on his antics.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible.

I can't believe this. How did this happen? He left Vengeance due to a "family emergency." The next night, his death is announced? WTF?

Vince pretty much ate crow live tonight by appearing and saying that his "death" was a work.

I hope to God this isn't true:

"Detective Bo Turner told television station WAGA that the case was being treated as a murder-suicide, but said that couldn't be confirmed until evidence was examined by a crime lab.

The station said that investigators believe the 40-year-old Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, and seven-year-old son, Daniel, over the weekend, then himself on Monday. A neighbour called police, and the bodies were found in three rooms. "

Kinda chilling to think that WWE might've just given a 3 hour live television tribute to a guy that possibly murdered his wife and child in cold blood.

I hardly think it would have been in cold blood.

But yeah, given that police have said that the instruments of death have been found on the scene, I'd say it's pretty clear he did it. Some people are hoping it was actually his wife who did it, but from the reports it seems pretty clear she died well before he did (which I think might be the kind of thing you can tell by just looking at the body).

It's been ruled that his wife died first, on Saturday, then his son Daniel on Sunday, and Chris himself died on Monday. This means the sick ****** was just eating breakfast and watching TV and doing whatever with corpses next to him.

But the thing is that they don't have any evidence for that theory of "wife died saturday, son sunday, Benoit monday" and honestly you can't ever trust the media on things like this. why haven't they declaired an exact ToD, or told us the murder weapon or even the motive for that matter because there was no motive for Benoit to kill his family and himself. I refuse this theory that the media has presented us until they provide evidance to support their claim.

^ I agree with this.

Chris Benoit would never do such a thing. He loved the business, his family, and his life.

They should think twice before assuming that Chris Benoit is homicidal, maybe someone broke into his house before he got there.

^ that's what I think, I think someone killed his family to frame Benoit and when Benoit got there he found his family dead and being overwhelmed with grief he killed himself

Personally, I think it's easier to believe that Benoit did it, especially considering how heavily guarded his house was (the police had trouble getting in).

However, I definitely believe that 1st degree murder is OUT of question. Though that doesn't rule out the other degrees.

One thing I keep hearing is that the details of this case is going to be bizarre.

I wonder what that means?

Oh, I just read that even though WWE has decided to go on with the the Smackdown/ECW taping, all storylines have been halted.

UPDATE: I just read that it was surmised that Benoit strangled his wife, smothered his son, then hung himself.

Also police are investigating whether "Roid Rage" was the cause.

EDIT: I just read that Benoit's wife breifly filed for divorce in 2003 due to another rage related incident.

It's beginning to look more and more like this was a 2nd degree murder, due to rage. Now, we just have to wait and see if this rage was truly caused by steroid use, which would show that Benoit, like so many others, was battling demons in his life.

Well, if he did do it, I've lost all respect for him as a person. Although his abilities in the ring were amazing, this will certainly overshadow all of that.

I won't be too fast to pass judgement.

There are just too many unanswered questions.
