First, I'm going to come out of the wrestling closet and admit I occasionally watch WWE with my nephew. Panfan already knew this. It's like a man soap opera and I can't look away, even though I feel horrible every time I watch it. I blame Mississippi and only having one TV with HD and not being able to get the remote away from the kids on Monday Nights and general curiosity and myself and the moon.

Second, Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25 was beyond epic.

That is all I will say. I'm going to go hang myself now.

I watch UFC haphazardly these days, and that's about it.

Personally, I think Wrestlemania 25 was one of the worst Wrestlemanias in recent memory.

Taker-Michaels was fantastic (Minus Taker's tope mishap) but the rest of the show was practically disastourous. (Although the Hardy's match was quite good.)

And, I think it's probably best to add R.I.P Test.

^I find it hard to call anything in wrestling a 'mishap' due to the scripted nature of it all, but yeah, that part was a little awkward. However, after watching all of the old Taker Wrestlemania matches, and after enjoying the immenseness of all of the Tombstones throughout the ages, I have to say, scripted or not, getting up from a Tombstone is badass. Like, ultra-badass.

Although Wrestlemania 25 was a slight let-down, how about this years Backlash? That was actually surprisingly okay. Judgment Day was kind of eh, though. And although we have a cage match in the works, looks like Extreme Rules is going to be more Same-Ol'-Same-Ol'. I'm liking that Edge and John Cena came to and end, though; I'm not too keen on Cena, but Edge (considering his status as one of the best heels of all time) is awesome enough to deserve a more interesting opponent. Jeff is just that: a more interesting opponent. Even though it looks like Jeff may be leaving us soon...

Recent things that were interesting in WWE: Jericho still playing an okay, if a bit tiring, heel game, Morrison's sudden face turn, The Brian Kendrick getting beat up by a lot of great people (including Hornswoggle and Goldust), Miz's "I'm Awesome" gimmick being both annoying and interesting, Big Show being the new Edge for John Cena and doing ass things to King Lawler, and , of course, Santina Marella... Lots of stuff.

Anyway: When is Shawn Michaels coming back, and what magic return promo will he get? It's been nearly two months, and the moment he reappears, it will be to do something interesting. So when, exactly, and which angle is he going to intrude upon? Or is he just going to reappear with a return promo and get an angle of his own with one of the Raw superstars? Come on, WWE, I'm tired of hearing my nephews weep every time he doesn't show up!

And, TNA. Mick Foley is awesome to the max, and his recent actions on TNA are good old classic Mankind stuff. It'd be awesome if that gimmick suddenly resurfaced now that he's gone crazy heel, but I'm doubting that since WWE might not allow him to use that character for some crazy Vince McMahon-created reason.

I saw pretty much every ppv this year, ( my cousin was buying) up until wrestlemania. I had been waiting and waiting, then on the night it was to come on, I realise that there was a scheduling mishap and we started the move the next day, so I had to get to bed ASAP.

What makes it worse is that the next day when we got here, my OTHER cousin, the one that's about 8, who had been staying here, had seen it, and decided to tell me what happened, right after I told him that I missed it. I interupted him about halfway through, so I could watch it online, then, I go to youtube, and it still gets spoiled for me.... *disappointed sigh*...oh well.

I'd also like to mention that, in regards to MMA, I've tried to watch some recent MMA, but every time I get the hankering for it, it's not on any channel. But it's still a badass sport.

I pretty much agree to all above comments regarding the quality of PPV's, the instant classic that was Taker-HBK and so-on. Here's a few things I'm excited for that I hope come to reach their full potential in the coming months in WWE.

The Hart Trilogy is a really exciting prospect in ECW (Which in itself is a great show to develop new stars like Bourne, Miz, Morrison, Punk and to a lesser extent Kofi Kingston). I'm a little biased in my opinion of David Hart Smith, Natalya and Tyson Kidd as a group because I grew up in Calgary a stone's throw away from the Hart Dungeon, but these are three young and talented individuals who I hope will be booked to dominate Tuesday nights before moving up with the big boys on Monday or Friday. I also like the cut of Jack Swagger's jib. His in-ring work is solid and his mic work is improving every week.

Holy **** is Raw nothing compared to Smackdown nowadays. Raw is filled with campy comedy stuff HornDust or Goldswoggle or whatever, and even Santino is slowing down with this cross dressing gimmick that just won't die. The writers have ****ed the dog with Legacy, always booking them in handicap matches that make them look week and neglecting any sort of Rhodes/DiBiase character development. I'm a big fan of Mr. Kennedy, but I fear he'll get buried in the middle of the card once he returns. MVP needs to drop the US Title and finally move to the Main Event picture, and right now the most exciting heels are definately Matt Hardy and The Miz who have been killing it on the mic lately. There is hope on the flagship show, but they need to stop bogging the card down with campy comedy and Legacy stuff (although Orton is phenomenal usually if given the chance), and push the right guys.

The Blue Brand has unlimited potential the way I see it. Barely a month post-draft (and not even a few weeks since Brand split has been in rigid effect) and we can firmly see a solid top three faces and heels. Edge and Jericho are in their primes and play different character types (and don't get along, which I love considering WWE always assumes faces like face and heels like heels which isn't at all realistic), and I like the prospect of Umaga as a solid third heel in the main event picture as he is a great monster-type who can actually work a good match.

Then you have Hardy, Mysterio and Punk as the big three faces. I think we have ourselves a new "SmackDown Six" now, and each program these guys are in I am interested in. Hardy is rumoured to be close to re-signing with the company and as much as I believe they waited too long in putting the strap on him (and when they did mis-booking him), he's still money with Edge. Mysterio will have a great series of matches with Jericho and Punk will get another chance to run with the company ball. I think an intruiging set-up would be for Punk to cash MITB in a heel-turn and playing off his Straight Edge lifestlye to become a narcissistic heat magnet.

I'm also excited with the newly baby-faced John Morrison. He's drawn comparisons to Shawn Michaels and I for one can see it as well. On the heel side, bank on Mike Knox to get a push. He's a big guy who has some unique ability and reminds a lot of people of the late great Bruiser Brody with his look. Hell, get him to fued with Morrison and watch them rise. Michaels had Razor Ramon, HHH had The Rock. A long and entertaining fued between two mid-carders propels both to stardom with proper booking. Keep your fingers crossed.

That's it for me, but one last thing...

Please don't wrestle again 'Naitch, not yet at least.

^I agree with pretty much everything you said. I'm seriously hoping to see Knox get a push, he's one of my favorite new heels and he's a great monster if used correctly. When he and Kane were teamed up, they pretty much crushed everyone (except Rey Mysterio, but he's a little harder to crush than most). Speaking of which, I'm glad they dropped the Mysterio/Kane/Knox angle. It was an okay series of matches, but it made little to no sense.

As to Punk possibly making a heel turn, I could see that. In ROH he played a "better-than-you" heel more than once, and I would buy it. He'd be great on the mic, and considering his box-office draw, he could be a huge heel. Like I said before, Morrison as a face is cool, but I've never really liked Shelton Benjamin. He needs to get out of that rivalry and get a better heel to fight. I like Phenom's idea, so let's hope for Knox.

Raw is bollocks these days, I agree. I like the Santina gimmick, because Santino as a face has always had enough humor to keep it fun. But it's taking too much time, and Beth Phoenix needs to move on back to her position as a top contendor for the women's title, not as a babysitter for the Italian. Goldust has always been a combination of creepy and fun to watch, and I personally enjoy seeing him back in action. However, tossing Hornswoggle into the equation is a bit off, especially since Goldust is a little, I dunno, scary as the caretaker for a 'child'. It does, however, give good ol' Fit Finlay room to breath. I despise Legacy as a stable. It's not cool to have your little lackies back you up all the time when you're a perfectly capable heel wrestler in your own right. I've seen Orton lay the smack down on the best of the best, and pretending like he's some pathetic coward who has to have others help him... Actually sort of make sense, now that I think about it, since Orton's presence has mainly been in stables like Rated RKO and Evolution. However, he's a competent singles wrestler with a great finisher, and Legacy vs. Triple H's guys is started to bore the hell out of me. As to Cena and Big Show, it's iffy, but it might work. We've always been led to believe that Big Show wasn't that great of a wrestler, and Cena is still the WWE's poster boy. It's not the best match, but I could be wrong. Finally, Miz is in fact "awesome". Without Morrison, he's flying ****ing high, and I hope he continues on the path he's on. In fact, both he and Morrison seem to be better off outside of their great Tag Team. It took a lot of people by surprise, considering that everyone figured they were destined to be a great tag team and not much else.

On ECW, Jack Swagger is proving to be one of the best wrestlers in recent memory. His match against Christian on ECW a few months ago was perfect, and he won it fairly (which is rare for a heel). Although it looked like he'd get a reverse push after his relatively poor PPV performance at No Way Out, he's worked hard and has performed solidly. He'll go far. I like the Harts, I like Evan Bourne, and it's sad, but I'm wondering who will finally retire Tommy Dreamer...

Edge is still my favorite heel. Now that he's all but dropped his on-screen wife, and the love triangle thing is over, Edge can keep being the hate machine we've come to know and love, except now by himself. I'm glad I don't go to the shows, as I'd accidentally cheer for Edge instead of boo him. He's that great at what he does, he really sells that heel attitude of his. Jericho is still an awesome wrestler. That codebreaker last night on Superstars reminded me of that. This 'conspiracy theory' angle could go anywhere, so let's keep our eyes locked on that.

So, TNA... Have they gone bat**** insane? It's like they turned pretty much all of their faces heel and all of their heels face. It makes no sense. I like Mick Foley as a crazy Cactus Jack whacko heel, especially when you give him a mic or a put together a promo with him in it. And really, it's fun to see TNA change like that, especially since it gets stale quickly. But all at once? Eh, I might just be seeing things, but everyone's actions on that show as of late are just bizarro world.

You know, this topic makes me want to look back at much more than just the last 8 months.

Talking about current wrestling makes me want to talk about older wrestling. Always.

Well, Vickie's gone, HHH is back, Edge is still a badass, CM Punk cashed in his briefcase right on cue, and MVP dropped the title to Kofi Kingston to move on up to main event contender status. It's all pretty great, but I can honestly say it was all relatively predictable. I await Smackdown to see how Jeff and Edge react to losing their title.

Oh, but Dreamer not retiring? That shocked me. I honestly thought he was really using that storyline to IRL quit the circuit. But I guess not. Good thing I actually like Tommy Dreamer, and I'm glad to get to keep him for a while longer.

Also, despite the interesting nature of his rivalries, has anyone else noticed John Cena's career starting to cool down a little? He doesn't really have a huge name villain to fight anymore, but Big Show is big enough to keep him occupied. Hopefully, though Miz is able to back up his words and eventually actually beat Cena. That would be a major push and the fans wouldn't see that coming seeing as Cena calls upon magical dryads to aid him in combat and help him survive every finisher ever (much like the 'Taker, except without actual in-storyline magical powers. Unless, of course, that line of Cenas at Wrestlemania was a group of druids. Which would be hilarious.)

Also, ROH on HDnet is amazing and badass and ****ing great. All of the matches are over-the-top and reminiscent of the old ECW. I like very muchly.

And Mick Foley is still awesome.

I've no idea what to think about it. I like Last Man Standing Commercial Free Ultrashow, but it's an angle that just reeks of ending badly. Like, he may make a whole Raw a commercial just to further the "EVIL TRUMP GOOD MCMAHON" thing they're building up to.

But I'm going to give it a fair chance before I start bashing it.

Something tells me When Orton and Cena team up, they're going to win, and then Orton's going to jump Cena from behind, call in Legacy of Losers, and triple team him until DX comes out to help him out.

BTW, anyone else hoping for Edge and Christian teaming up again when Edge comes back?

Also, did HHH and Michaels get the utter hell booed out of them?

Yeah, they were in Canada. After the Screwjob, Canada ****ing despises everything having to do with Shawn Michaels, as we all know. So I'm sure there were a lot of boos, and even though they tried to get negative heat for Jericho, Canada won't betray Jericho no matter how much he tries to get them to.

Also, for a moment I though Legacy might stop failing for a second and actually start being pretty cool, especially Ted DiBiase Jr. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and we're back to focusing on their 'mindless lacky' side. Lame.

And I do want Edge/Christian back, but ECW needs a new star to anchor their program before they can do that. Edge is definitely going to come back and **** Jericho's **** up, but his actions from that point forward will hopefully remain heel-like. Edge is fantastic at being a heel, we don't need to see a face turn just yet.
