| Guest | Yesterday while playing Morrowind, it took me six or seven tries before I made it from the Vivec Arena to Ebonheart. The game would always either freeze on the way there, get a bad disk message, or mess up whenever I tried to save outside of Ebonheart. I'm kinda scared to try it today. From the way it looks either the hard drive in my Xbox is about to go, the disk really is bad (too late to return it now), or my Morrowind save states have reached such a corrupted level that I'll never be able to finish the game. |

I know the laser is extremely sensitive, but all of my games are in mint condition. I've also seen people theorize that Morrowind has a glitch with the save files that screws up the HDD. Come to think of it, the locks, freezes, and dirty disk errors only popped up after I bought morrowind. I keep meaning to put in a call to tech support, but I'm lazy. |

Although, I haven't actually played many other Xbox games since I got Morrowind...aside from a little Tetris Worlds (enough to review it). For what it's worth, that uses the hard drive and I didn't have a problem playing custom soundtracks. | |

The guy I talked to said since my system was from the launch, I should try cleaning the lens with a DVD lens cleaner. If that doesn't work, I'm going to have to call tech support (which I hate doing). |

| Guest | ARGH! NOW I CAN'T EVEN PLAY MORROWIND ANYMORE!!! Even after letting it sit for hours, it still freezes mere minutes into EVERY SINGLE GAME of Morrowind I play. I tried MotoGP and it worked without a hitch, so at this point I'm think the disk really is the culprit. I'm going to try a lens cleaner first (since Morrowind constantly streams from the DVD, whereas a game like MotoGP loads each race into memory and then doesn't touch it). |

| Guest | Hard Disks...may be fast, but not good for gaming...honestly, removable storage media is much cheaper and easier to fix or replace.besides, since the OS is on the hard disk, expect many errors in the future due to the way large APIs (like direct X) are loaded from the HDD. I really believe that the OS [os kernel at least - even on PCs] should be read only on ROM [not eeprom] . well, maybe next time MS, maybe next time.. |

Morrowind was buggy as hell for the PC and M$ actually forced a delay for them to work out the stability issues with the game. I haven't really had any problems like that in any other game. Why they couldn't just make Morrowind work like a PC game so they could patch it is beyond me. |
