I liked Paper Mario better than most of Rare games, and there is still no game better than SSBM in my list, Animal Crossing is one of the more adictive games I have played since Melee,if you havent played Advance Wars or Paper Mario, you cant say That Rare is Better than Intelligent Systems, but you now what? you haven't. We, people who play nintendo games can actually tell you who is better because we have played games from both companies, the same could be said about Camelot, Ape, Hal, Game Freak, Silicon Knights, or all the internal nintendo developer teams (I cant tell you about Retro Studios I havent played any of their games).

Rare is an exelent developer but is not the best, or the only. The only Rare game that I will really miss is Banjo-Kazooie (Which is a Kiddie franchise I wonder how will Banjo fit on the box)and if Rare can pull out a good Banjo-Kazooie game on the Box I will buy it and change my name to:

BK's the best platformer ever, but when I say Rare's top 5, I'm referring to more than just three games, which wouldn't cut it even if they were only four years old. Just like when I say Nintendo's top 5, I'm most definitely referring to more than what they've been releasing lately.

So Hal is better based on a whole one game? At least with IS you came up with two whole games, though you did miss their real shining moment, which is now in the hands of some bozos. Camelot could be a contender with a bigger budget and not being limited to the SNES Advance and Mario cameo games. Their true glory days had nothing to do with Nintendo, though back then they had a limited budget as well. Ape with their one (highly overrated by Nintendo fanboys, much like SMRPG) small franchise and who hasn't been heard from in 7 years? Hal may have produced a couple good games, but looking at a list of their games just makes you wonder "When will the mediocrity end?" Which is why it's no surprise you only name one game, produced last year, in their 20+ year history. Let's hope you don't attempt to insinuate that someone who's done nothing but Pokemon games can beat Rare. SK needs a hell of a lot more years under their belts before they can be mentioned in the same breath as Rare.

If Rare sucked as much as you claim, you probably wouldn't hate Microsoft.

Microsoft can market to multiple demographics, even if Nintendo can't.

THAT is the most DISGUSTING statement ever made. I am usually open minded and I respect other's opinion's, but there's always a line you have to draw. PM was the second to worst game on the N64. Mario RPG "The Legend of The Seven Stars" was a great game. Enjoyable. Not too hard, not too easy, with a funny plotline. Paper Mario was a horrible Succesor. It shames the name Mario. It doesn't even deserve to be in existence. Why, it's nearly as bad as Quest 64, or Superman 64!

What Genre? If you're arguing that as a fightign game it's the best, You're right. There's few that give it a run for it's money. but Soul Calibur 2 and Power Stone, published a year or so earlier, are still king. The Best GAME of all? Hell no. Halo Beats the blood freaking crap out of it, and they were made at the same time. Morrowind is more enjoyable. So's Icewind Dale, and FFX, as well as Kessen.

that's a disgusting run on sentence. All I can gather is that you believe WE have no experience with nintendo, and that their are far better developers. I think Atlus is. But then again, GE007, BK, DK, and PD are very, very good.

Tis not a kiddie game. I won't go into this with you, but truth be told, the Whole "MAture" and "Kiddie" arguement is mislabeled and misunderstood.

Nintendo doesn't make the best RPGs. Most of the world realizes that, even if it took some people a 5 year stretch with less than one per year from all developers.

First:
-Did you check that that was my opinion, it will be really hard for you to change MY OPINION, so if I liked Paper Mario YOU CANT DO ANITHING TO CHANGE IT.

Second:
-Shane did you wanted more games from Hal, o.k.
1.-to me Kirby's Adventure is the best Nes game out there and is more fun that all the Rare games that I have played.
2.-Kirbys Super Star is the only Snes game that I still play time to time thanks to their great 2 player mode and for me is better than all the DKC games.
3.-SSB I cant really tell you how much I have played this game thanks to the fact that there are 3 players in my house, better than all Rare games, for me of course.
4.-Dont make me go to Earthbound, because that is MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME (And my name cames from that game, I will let you guess from which one in the series)
5.-SSBM Ha,Ha,ha,ha, to tell you somthing my brother Banjo-Kazooie fan No 1 Likes this game more than anithing!, even Banjo-Kazooie, you can't see the greatnes of Melee unles you have at least 2 other people to play with every day like me..

Third: to go to the other developers:
Camelot: Golden Sun is the only serios RPG that I really have enjoyed playing and Mario Tennis is second to SSB the most played multipleyer game in my house.
Intelligent Systems: I havent played many of their games, but Paper Mario show me what they can do (in my book is better than SMRPG)and Advance Wars is the most played GBA in my house.
Game Freak: They also made Yoshi for the Nes and GB, to tell you how they are better than Rare I will give you my time counters on the Pokemon games:
Red 255:59 hrs/ Silver 999:59 hrs we also got every thing in both Pokemon stadium 1 and 2.
Ape: those are some lazy fools that cant even finish Mother 3 but still EarthBound is like a religion to me so dont mess with them.
Silicon Knigths: I have only played ED but since you didnt say nothing against them I presume you agreed with me.

I almost forgot, I never said Rare suked,I like their games, they are Microsoft only chance to make me buy a box if they can pull it right, but still the only Rare game that I enjoyed enough to be on my top 20`s, is Banjo-Kazooie to the point that if nintendo had keeped only this franchise from Rare, than I wouldnt have cared abouth they leaving.
I never liked any FPS since the days of Wolfstein 3D and thats the reason why I never bougth GE or PD.

I wasn't all that impressed with SSB. Granted, I'm not a big fighting games fan. But taking a look from the average gamer, SSB simply can't compete with Rare's better efforts like Goldeneye, even if SSBM might come close.

My favorite game is FF2, although ROTTK2 gets closer and closer as time goes by. Doesn't mean that'll mesh with the general view.

Too bad it's still not the same old Camelot.

The fact that you sat through all of the medicore Pokemon Stadium games suggests you'll play even their crap and eat it up. Let's not even mention Yoshi and pretend it's worthwhile either.

ED was a good game... it's just not enough to prove anything. My only gripe with SK is they were idiots and joined Nintendo.

Everyone's pretending as if Rare sucks and isn't important to Nintendo.

Counting games like Battletoads, DKC, and RC Pro Am would make Rare look too good. Most people don't even want to count Goldeneye and DKR, perhaps because they show what Rare can do building something from the ground up, which goes against this whole "starting over" philosophy.
