Console price cuts: about damn time. Rather odd to see it now rather than at E3. Looks like Sony was surprised, too. Or perhaps they just don't care, for some reason.

Cutting the price on those games: it's called marketing, Microsoft. Relearn it.

Crimson, PGR2, and Counterstrike are obviously designed to push Xbox Live.

The issue I'd take with them is that they didn't sell as well as they should've, hence the drop this soon. Perhaps this could be argued to be a marketing effort in itself, in which case it makes a lot of sense, but I'd rather see them stand on their own merit.

I agree, but it also has something to do with Microsoft not pushing any of those games.

Problem is they didn't push any games this past year. Halo 2 will be huge, but they need to go beyond that franchise. I suspect enough of Rare's brand will carry over that something like Perfect Dark will do well, so that should help. They've gotta get back to like it was at launch (granted, that was pre-Live).

Not sure if its an official price cut or not, but I just bought a brand new copy of Star Wars KOTOR at Target for like $25.....happy happy!!
