K... everybody probaby knows about the hype this game got. Peter Molyneux indulged himself in calling it "An RPG revolution."

Well, uh, whatever. Good game, not great. Honestly, the level design is just annoying. There's only one Path to go down. As others have voiced, exploring this game is boring. Things are just too easy. I think within the first hour of gameplay, I had a wife. It should be harder than just feeding her endless boxes of chocolate like some sort of Harvest Moon rip off. HOnestly, I get no kick out of making my character fart in the direction of AI. The fight is fun but not in the way of ninja gaiden.

Any thoughts from others?

Agreed, it's a good game, not great. Plus my disk is screwed up. It looks perfect, but freezes saying that the disk is dirty or damaged.

Haven't played it, but I've heard some good and bad things about it.

The concept of Fable is really good. Problem is, they think drastically cutting a potentally great game into...something worse.

When are companies (other than Sqaure) going to realzise that a game can have more than just ONE disc? Sqaure's realized this some time ago and made some rather nice games that actually last more than an hour. True, it's four discs usually, but if you try to put all that on one, it's impossible, thus forcing them to hack it up horribly.

muahaha, my friend owes me money now, cuz I bet him Fable was gonna be a let-down and he didn't believe me

I haven't played it, but I heard combat was just bland compared to some other games out, so I'm not desperately trying to rent/buy it either.

^ Oh dear no, the combat is the best part. It's unique feature is the ability to care about what your character looks like. It hardly matters though because who are you showing off to? No one, cause its not an MMORPG. However, I do like the battle system. If you challenge yourself by using less magic, it can be a really good thing. Makes ya use the block botton. It's not quite on par with POP or Ninja Gaiden, though.

Its about an 8.8 if you disregard Peter's rhetoric about the game and a 7.8 if you do.

That's your xbox, not the disk.

Capcom did it a couple times for a few of their GCN games. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes did it as well. Otherwise, people figure that since DVDs hold "INSANE AMOUNTS OF MEMORY (tm)" that they only need one disc total. I don't mind rotating discs as long as the game is made longer or better or whatever it is you do with "INSANE AMOUNTS OF MEMORY (tm)" which apparently aren't as insane as we'd like to think.

Also, I mostly just play fighting games nowadays anyways, so one disc suffices.

I'll need to get this game eventually. It's not high on my priority list, but let's just say that KOTOR filled my Xbox RPG fix for a while, so I figure I can last without another RPG for a spell... But fighting games? Oh, God, I need Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, Mortal Kombat: Deception, and SVC Chaos! Online play ahoy!

Xboxes with Thompson disc drives are more prone to DDE's. Which Morrowind was it: original, greatest hits, or Game of the Year edition? From what I've gathered, each following version was slightly more stable.

Some games trigger DDEs more than others. Notibly, anything that has a massive world (Fable and Morrowind), and sports games.

Try getting a lens cleaner and running that. If you call Xbox's help service, they'll tell you to dump all of your HDD and try. If that doesn't work, they're gonna say you have to send in for repairs, which will hit you for like 100 bucks + shipping. See if you can get an extended warrenty, wait a little bit and then file a claim. They'll pay for it, and though the warrenty is 50 bucks, it'll cover it for 3 years.
