Well I bought an xbox, mostly for fable. Only have 2 games, fable and morrowind. Fable's fun, although not as good of a game as i was hoping. Morrowind's got a lot to do, but pretty much the most fun i have with it is stealing and that gets old.

So far im not too impressed with the system, but there's some other games i'll get some time.

So... can anyone recommend any games. Don't bother mentioning halo or halo 2.

Considering that you snouked 'Fable' and 'Morrowind' immediately, I'd recommend the excellent RPGs 'Star Wars: KOTOR' and 'Gladius'. (The latter, especially; I see from your profile that you dig 'FF Tactics', and 'Gladius' is a similarly high-end tactical RPG.)

Most multi-platform games are the best on the Xbox.

I personally think that an Xbox is a waste of money without Xbox Live.

^Disagreed. But whatever.

Defnitely need crimson skies and/or SC: High road to revenge. I had a fun time with brute force but it's a gam most people either reall hate or think is ok. I honestly would've told you to save your money if you were banking on fable being the main reason for buying, but, you spent the money. What's Halo at now? 20 bucks? It's the best 20 bucks you can spend other than morrowind, in my opinion. You might also want to try Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2, since you seem into RPGs. That's another good game to log hours playing.

Eck, no live? Consider getting it, its worth the admission price.

Crimson Skies and MechAssault are top tier action games. Rallisport Challenge 2 and Project Gotham 2 are extremely good racing games (both go for about 20 bucks on ebay). Knights of the Old Republic is at 20 bucks as well, and thats one of the best games released in recent years. Plus the sequal is out in a few years. I've heard fairly good things about Star Wars battlefront, but I haven't played it myself. Ninja Gaiden is a must buy, as it will likely make the top 5 list of best games released for the system. Rainbow 6 III and Black Arrow are fun, as are any of the Splinter Cell games (as they look and handle much better on Xbox). Halo, DoA3, Amped 2, and Oddworld can be found on Ebay for under 20 (some under 10).

This winter, look for Halo 2, Knights of the Old Republic II, Star Wars Republic Commando (i think it slipped to Feb. thought), MechAssault II, Conker remake (though if you don't have live, I can't see why unless you REALLY liked Conker), and I think there's one more that I'm forgetting.

Splinter Cell III got pushed to March or so, but that should be good.

On Battlefront, I can't recommend it unless you've got Live.

When getting Xbox Live, Crimson Skies is the way to go. It's just that good of a XBL game. And while everybody else will be clamoring for Halo 2, I won't. If you're like me, you'll be stoked about the slew of 2D fighting games and the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade. Yeah, fun times to be had.

One game that I enjoy is Sega GT 2002 Racing. I know its is old, however, it is an excellent racing game that becomes addicting quickly. Good news: it is not some Gran-Turismo wanna be.

Meh, KOTOR II is okay, but I HIGHLY reccomend getting KOTOR I, it has a great story, great and memorable characters. (Gotta like the meatbag hating HK-47!)
Combat is very fun, and some of the greatest plot twist ever seen in a video game!

I also suggest getting Shenume II, if you can find it. (Its under $10 now)

And you should definatally get Oddworld: Stranger's Wraith, it's innovitive mix of First and Third-Person gameplay and the fact that you have to find creative ways to capture your bountys alive and get the maximum payoff from turning them in to the sherrif(Yes, you are a bounty hunter in the game.) or simply kill the guy your after and get less money for them dead.
And that you can use a chipmunk (And other little animals) as ammo is just so cool!

The first KOTOR is one of my all time favorite games, and I give it my highest recommendation. I played through about four times. There are so many differences between lightside and darkside, and then you've got different character classes, and all the feats and force powers to customize your character. Not to mention the great characters and voice acting.

The sequel, I thought was a bit of a let down, though. Didn't like the characters as much, some areas from the original were reused, and the ending doesn't give much satisfaction. It's still an okay game to purchase, though.
